One thing I miss on my 1965 Fury III is a rear-view mirror on the passenger side. Anyone know if this was a factory or dealer-installed option? If so, where can I find repro items or an original I can restore?

I have a 65 Monaco and I miss that right side mirror too. I believe they were optional. Course I still stare at the AM radio dial waiting for the back-up camera to kick-in backing out of my garage. Couple of the features I’ve really gotten used to on modern cars.
I have seen the right side mirror repros available out there. Maybe Classic Industries, Mopar Mall or Murray Park.
Note that also that the two post style mirror is often listed as correct for a 65 but below you can see mine’s a single post most often listed as 66 and later. Both styles are available.

With the huge greenhouse on my car there really are no blindspots but we got so used to them on our daily drivers nowadays. Plus all the idiots around us these days.
There might be a factory accessories pamphlet/catalog for the '65 or '66 cars at www.hamtramck-historical.com. Plus the parts book download at www.jholst.net.
The rh osrv mirror was optional, possibly even with the (cable) remote control for that side. Be careful about using casting numbers to identify one as EACH part of the mirror probably has a casting number for the particular part it's cast into. So viaual identity might be best. KEY thing is the angle of the mounting base (and any adapter gaskets, usually matched to the body contours) is correct for what you need. The front of the Chrysler parts catalog has an Accessories section which should have the correct factory part numbers for the mirror kit itself.
Back when we got our '66 Newport CL42, I was amazed at how easy it was to see out of. EACH end of the car was easily visible from the driver's position. Once I learned to judge the distances, no real need for the rh mirror. When we later got our then-new '69 Chevy pickup (with dual outside factory mirrors), I normally didn't use the rh side. If you aimed it to see the side of the vehicle, then that was all you saw. Not nearly as good as the '73+ rectangular mirrors in that respect. So, with that "history", they might be nice to look at, but of less real value in real life, to me.
If you had to back into a space with an inch or so to spare, then they might be of value, unless you found a stick-on convex mirror to stick onto the flat mirror itself, for a wider range of view. An incognito upgrade of sorts.
Any mirror kit you might find should have the paper template of where to drill holes in the door structure. Which reminds me of the story from the Online Imperial Club message board where an owner searched for the rh osrv mirror for years, finally finding a complete kit for the rh side. He got it all laid out, the template secured, his punch and hammer readied. Marked the spot for the holes, positioned the punch, firmly "tapped" it with the hammer, as the punch bounced off the sheet metal. Tried again, making sure to hold the punch firmly. Same result. He put everything back in the box and stored it away for "the next owner of the car". No pain damage, either.
I have a company truck with the backup camera and such. It's easy to get used to those things, especially if they are in the radio. The cam screens in the edge of the inside mirror aren't so good. On the newer Cadillac CT6, I believe the inside mirror is a total rear camera screen, at all times?

Just looked through my garage called “When They Were New”. There is a pic of Dad’s 65 Custom 880 with the RSV mirror. This would have been a factory installed item as company cars didn’t go through a dealer.
Edit: After further review! Mr C’s chart looks correct. According to big brother Dad had that RSV mirror installed by the H.P. garage. We still towed a boat that year and Dad wasn’t gonna hang those ugly travel trailer mirrors just to pull the boat.

Thanks! I wondered about that. I have seen the two post mirror listed as the correct one, but the original on my Fury was the single post variety.
Thanks for this definitive answer. Wonder if the dealer took the passenger door apart to install the optional mirror, or whether it was just installed with short sheet metal screws?
I removed a remote control psgr mirror from a 65 Monaco many moons ago. Could have been dealer installed, but I doubt it strongly as the cast trim on the door panel was shaped to take the remote control. I've never found another, nor have I ever found literature showing availability, just telling what I found. Don't mind the screws - they're the best I could come up with at the time when I moved it all to my Polara 500.

Yes, my 65 SF has a remote mirror with single post. The dual post was the manual option
