I Spy With My Little Eye

Isn't that the "what if" car someone built for a Dodge equivalent to the Sport Fury GT?

With a bench seat and normal wheel/tire combination? The stripes do look nice, though.

Wouldn't change a thing except for the painted bumpers. They need to go back to chrome.

When I see an older car that's trying to be spiffed-up, or "enhanced" with body color bumpers, it probably means the bumpers needed to be rechromed and painting was less expensive. To me, the car might be more credible without the stripes and such, rather than try to make it something "better" or "special". A set of Magnum500s would certainly make it look better, or even some W23 Class II wheels (or '76 Charger SE 15x6.5 Rallyes). Perhaps the ultimate buyer could see that vision and make it happen?

I did, too, when they were new. Back when everybody seemed to have some mag-style wheel covers. I guess my tastes have changed over the years? Not that they are bad, just that I have come to like the other factory wheels better.

In this case, some whitewalls or RWL tires would probably help with the look?

The car was on here last time it came up for sale, I want to say $26.5k or something like that. I've always liked the car, and thought it was cool.

After talking to @71Polara383 and originally thinking they look fine, I've changed my mind, and have to agree, chrome they should be.

Would not mind owning that Polara but at the price it's been listed it ain't happening.

I liked it better as the humble little 318 car it started life as. This car surfaced on moparts in the early to mid 2000s. The guy was gonna make it his Winter beater and I believe Dave and several other members including myself convinced him otherwise.

So this is what we get. A painted bumper slap in the face. A car no one really wants long term, that gets passed around like the easy girl in high school. Poor car.

In my opinion the car reflects the image the builder was looking for very well. The chrome bumpers , W23 wheels , or even bucket seats would detract from the point of the build.
In saying all that I'd prefer all I mentioned above. I somehow see me owning this car in the distant future.... I hope that there is another option along the way as I too preferred it in its original state.

So, you guys created this *monster"?

This car works very well. Cars like this may not be what every person likes but this one is a good result.

Plenty of multi carbed cars with bench seats and wheel covers. And the painted bumpers emulate the options that were available. Rechroming those big bumpers would cost a lotta coin.
