Was only 46,000 miles on this GT before sat for decades...originally a lease car...thinkin someone was preforming with it thus the valve covers and steering wheel..think they blew engine or tranny and that's all they wrote for this lease car..sold at auction no dought then stripped of drivetrain

Looking good Derek

sooooo...already to finish this part up and you think l could get the shaft ect close enough to get the C pin in the coupler..tryed and tried and tried...nada..
Finally knocked the cap offa the connector and C pin didn't look to healthy in there..somethin was wrong....
Had visions of cutting steering shaft and pulling steering gear box to sort it out and fix...anyway was late so left it....didn't want all the bangin and cursein bothering tenant upstairs of my garage..
..lousey sleep...up early and down to the garage with nary a piss....
There it sat in all its bliss....it didn't give a dam
lm sure that was its plan
Anyway out comes the steerin column..now l gotta fix it to...farmer mode...aint waiting weeks for a replacement....

now it fits.....no prisoners....steerin done...even cleaned up the steerin wheel that came with it....need a wooden one to replace it...next

Is there supposed to be a picture cause I don't see anything?

put the battery on the car and hooked up ground and power to see what blows up...have sorted through 3 harness.s to come up with hopefully what will be 1 decent one..got some of my headlights and high beam along with BRAKE light on...no smoke,,,,no wipers......fans working allbe it it seems weak...may be bad ground,,,,
Todays job will be sorting out headlights...ensureing lm getting highbeams as well...headlight doors...will try to sort that out if l can...not sure if l have right motor and rod in there....noticed there are different rods..ie square and oblong rods...rod lm useing now barely fits and its a square one...other motors seem to fit the oblong rod....need to sort that out....may need to replace plastic piece for rods on one of the motors.....lots of **** to work through...is overwhelming sometimes as you have to learn all this ****....all my windows and assemblies are in pieces....no idea whats missing ...thatll be a horror story in itself...
all l can do now is hope for little victorys….my headlight took min or two to turn of yesterday so am asumeing the headlight delay on these cars is working as it should....a victory

The indefatigable Critter! You are a wild man, but yer getting there. Remember: The last 20% of the job takes 80% of the time. . .

Welp...low and high beams work as they should.. is a delay when turned off but that's disposed to happen...
No flashers or signs yet but front running lights work as they should....side fender lights are next....hood turn sigs will b modded in at end ..
My fan was W orkin then just quit...clueless..guessin both inner fenders will have to come back out to check fan and give me better access to fuse block to diagnose ****..
NEED TO id these pieces.....one by glove box and cpl by fuse box and one on stearin column.....

Another question.....is there anyplace on a 2 speed wiper set up l can put power to directly to bypass switch and see if wiper motor works ?....dont was pull it if l don't have to....thanx

the fsm for 1969 has a testing procedure for the 3spd motor. not sure about the 2spd. you should be able to put 12v to the blower motor to see if that works to bypass the resistor.
one of the flasher units mounts to the rear of the ash tray. not sure on a 70, but on the 69s the other flasher mounts to the column. the canister looks like the ignition light delay, but i'm not sure that is in the right location. mine is behind the dash panel.

welp was interesting day...mostly trial and error...according to CBarges direction had a cpl wires backwards..switched them about and lubed up switch to free it up a tad...managed to jump some power from Lighter to fan power and got fan rolling so can rule it out as a issue...between pokeing and proding about got to point l have med and high fan rolling so was quite happy with that...suspect switch was old and gumed up from sitting in elements for cpl decades...will replace to rule it out...hopefully then will get full fan settings...motor blows strong though and spare motor l have works good as well so have motors covered if need be.....
In pokeing about managed to get sigs at dash working along with 4 way flashers all be it weak...wil replace flasher and ensure everything has good ground....
Also got a pass on the horn and washer motor connections so am quite happy
...in the end ended up partialy pulling inner fender out to expose fan if l needed to get at it...made it easyer to trace wireing to ensure wireing was routed back...also pulled dash back apart and pulled radio for better acesss to ac switch and connectioins to dbl check them for correct routeing
Am gona tackle radio and connections once l find a speaker l can use...old one is torn and toast....can remember a time trippin over 8 track speakers was the norm...try and find a speaker now lol...
Most of the stuff lve gotten going ect has been mostly trial and error from pokeing about and cleaning up leads and grounds after sitting in open elements for decades....
Was a good day and was happy to see fan rockin and Rollin...door and dome lights to sort out down the road then l can move on to rear lights and sigs ect…
Will be happy to put electrical behind me... :D
Learning a lot having to deal with all this stuff as l go and am thankfull to have the help and expertise l have here:poke::mob::stop::eek::(..thanx folks...

-800 celcius...gotta drag my sorry *** out to the garage and accomplish one thing today..just one thing...dosnt matter what as long as something is accomplished today..lm my own worst boss......prick.....

Typical that the fan switch is fubar.
Body is ground on almost everything so the turn signals and flashers will work normally when all the lights are installed . They will work funny (backfeed into the system) without the tail lights working.
I highly recommend using this flasher with external ground. I use them in all my cars-- worth the extra money and very reliable.
The BoaB I use for both the hazards and signals. The external ground guarantees no back-feeding. You just have to pull the spades and switch the polarity in the plug to work since this is polarity sensitive. I use existing holes in dash to screw the ground wire down. Out of sight, out of mind. Also can use LED bulbs with this flasher. Any parts store or truck shop carries them.

If the low fan speed does not work with replacement fan switch replace the resistor block.
