Yep. That bottom trim makes the car! The buckets and the awesome wheel covers are a bonus.

I've never had a negative comment about it not being "original", in fact just the opposite. Lot's of good comments about the change in color.
That color on the top is awesome. The factory must not have had any women in the styling group at that time, to offer only black or white with that body and interior color, an all-male team is the only explanation...

Hey! Sounds like that car might be a good score. . . Depending. . . Here is a price guide I always use, when trying to estimate values - C-Body or anything else. From what you have said about the car so far, I would think it is between a No. 4 car and a No. 5 car. There are factors that add to the estimated price, such as the 440 engine (if original), etc. Take a look:

1969 DODGE POLARA Value

At any rate, you can use this guide during negotiations with the seller.
Always get a kick out of those old car value guides. For kicks I plugged in a Fury GT 440+6 & I come up with $22k for a #2 car (which is super nice condition). Of course deduct 10% from that for no AC which wasn't even available. Sign me up for one of those!
1970 PLYMOUTH FURY GT Value

Of course a VW bus in comparable condition (with a mighty 40HP) can be worth $91k. As kids we used to laugh at them trying to make it up a hill.
1962 Volkswagen TRANSPORTER Value

Enlighten the ignorant (me) on your comment...
Kidding!
Another of my Mopar jokes. I see more Superlites now than I did back in the day. I always thought they looked cool but Dad wouldn’t order his with one. (And he was in Front End Design)
Same thing with Shaker Hoods on E bodies today. Neither item was popular when these cars were new.

Yes. I agree, and there are always exceptions. But that guide is a good tool to use when talking to a seller. I used it when I purchased my '66 300 convertible. It made a difference in his attitude / price when I showed it to him.

Gawd I can't read through all this, my head is 'bout to Dodge'plode.
My advise, save yourself a boatload... buy a Plymouth.

<ducks>

I have not gotten any new news about the car yet. he's in no rush. But his best friend called me and asked if I was interested. So it will be coming down the pipe line in the old guys due time. I will definitely post up on this when I get any info. And if I can't afford it I will definitely pass it along to you guys.

Hi there, I have 69 Polara 500 and just want to point out, legendary does not carry the interior upholstery. Few years back nobody was able to supply and I ended up with the custom made interior coping the original pattern. Good luck with your potential purchase, its fine to flow down the road in open C body :)

thanks for pointing that out. I will take that into consideration when I am haggling the price. Hopefully the interior is perfect.
