GTO - Question

No Cupie doll for you and no cigar! Even horseshoes can't save that answer!

You should probably just sell the car.

Did you join the website I recommended and post you conundrum there? I guess you have the only '66 GTO convertible that doesn't use the parts the vendors sell.

I'm out. Good luck.

Whew! Your out? At least something went right today!

Simple fix and probably is the same for many cars other than GM! There is a small, plastic bushing that fits in the sun visor that then holds it firmly to the post on the convertible top bracket. It cost $9.00 me but probably cost $.01 - .05 to make but hey, it works!

Glad you figured it out.
Where did you did the info from?
Searching the internet, finding nothing except for the replacement bushings on Amazon, e-bay, etc. and studying the bracket in my hand. NOWHERE could I find a bracket like mine except one used one on e-bay not worth the purchase. At the same time, no information on how to fix including u-tube which is unusual. I even went through numerous GM manuals which give you information on how to overhaul an engine to how to change a dome light but nothing! In the end it was “how should this thing work?”
