1965 pace car restoration

You missed the tape on 3 plugs :poke:
Why tape any of them, just throw some old junk plugs in :realcrazy:

I take it your going to put <ahem> some non-stock items on the engine thus all the masking eh?

.

I only had 3 old plugs laying around. The ones masked up are new ones

Alright, just had to do a quick scroll from the start to refresh my memory.
What to say, Amazing? Incredible? Fantastic?, WOW?, Unbelievable, Stunning?
I'd say "Legendary"!

Yea your the metal/foundry man so I'll cut you some slack, but a 'True' mechanic (not Tech) saves every G'dam spark plug they have ever pulled out of a engine. A old time mechanic's CV so to say is how many spark plugs fill the box or bucket under his work bench!

Hell I've seen these used I'durid'ium Hemi Hellcat low mileage sparkplugs being offered up on Craigslist for like a hundred bucks. :realcrazy:

I find old spark plugs useful as an award for Scout leaders who exhibit exuberance... Mount them on a small L shelf...

My original plugs which I took out 8 years ago are still in my tool box, and yes the have Mopar turquoise sprayed on them. :)

Lol I found the original plugs about 10 minutes after I’d finished painting. I used a different set of heads and didn’t realise there was plugs in the old ones under the bench

Had a few issues installing the new shift cable yesterday. Turns out the end crimp wasn’t holding in place properly. Didn’t pick it up till my son came down to give me a hand. Also fitted the park lock and new speedo cable. Waiting on some more brackets to arrive from the zinc platers and need to drop the power steering pump off for some new seals tomorrow.

Also made up a new fuel line this week. I wasn’t sure of the correct route for it but I’m happy how it turned out

I don't comment much on build threads. But I gotta say, yours is great! Your level of detail on everything is crazy cool. Very, very nice!!!

Terry, Nice job on the fuel line routing around the distributor. The factory should have ran it that way. Gotta ask though, what is that knob on the distributor? Not familiar with it. Are you not running a vacuum advance?

Thanks mate, it’s a tacho drive cable set up I believe. It’s not the dissy I’ll be using it’s just covering the hole. I used it to make sure the fuel line didn’t foul up on it.

Power steering pump is sorted just need to collect it this week. Fitted the last of the zinc plated items. Sat the air cleaner on to check fit, need to paint it when I do the remaining items black in the next week. I zinc plated it just to give it that clean look inside. I need to source a correct radiator core so I can get mine rebuilt. Anyone have any idea where in the US I can buy the correct core. I used to be able to get them locally here but I’ve had trouble finding one. I was going to pull mine apart so I can tidy up the top tank as it has a couple of bits id like to smooth out.
