1970 Dodge Polara Convertible 383

You're right, of course -- DL27G0D255646 was initially sold in Illinois. Looking at the registry, indeed I don't see any Canadian car with the L31 code.

I don't think so. AM Radio is 123 and Deluxe Wheel Covers is 120, which cannot be percentages.

This said... What about DL27G0D106999, which went from Ontario to Ohio a few years back? It has the L31 code. Or Cam Frederickson's L-code in Lethbridge (I don't have much info about his car, but Cam's profile info for "Bert and Ernie" says that his car has the L31 repeaters)?

No, 25/700 (or 703) US cars.

Why can't those be percentages?

If you go back and read the yahoo board, 842 is a percentage

Even though the original document cited by Kevin does talk about « installation rates » (emphasis added), I don't see how the figures could be percentages. There can’t be more than 100% of all (699 or 144 or 842) cars produced with a given option. Therefore, seeing that several of the above figures exceed 100 tells me those are actual numbers of cars, not percentages — notwithstanding Ma’s confusing reference to « rates ».

Indeed. But what about Y05 — built to USA specs? Just saw another thread where @fc7_plumcrazy noted this point too.

@Tobias74 — would the Y05 code make it easier to import into the States?

What was coded, when it was coded and even where it was coded on the tag changes even within the model year.

Given that.....

...Y0* codes do not start appearing on 70 Belvidere plant tags until A23/24 SPD, about a week before the SPD on this tag.
...tags are not made in any particular order meaning this tag could have been part of the first tags made with the addition of the coding change. It was likely made in the first week of the change.
...tags are made by humans and humans make mistakes.
...factory errors are know to exist.

I'd not read anything into the mis coding or try to make a big deal out of it. I'd chalk it up to interesting factory goof and FNG error.

Y codes or Y0 codes?

Has is it booked a boat trip already?
Are you crazy ??!! ; this one is a keeper!!!
Doesn't need a boat trip to the states

This turquoise beauty is now headed back to the state where she was born, after spending 50+ years north of the border. :usflag: :canada:

Here are a couple of photos that @Tobias74 and the truck driver texted me an hour ago. She should arrive here on Monday. It seems that Tobias got her through customs just in the nick of time to (almost) avoid the snow.

The driver made the delivery in a safe area with little traffic and plenty of space. What a nice sight at the end of the afternoon!

I have started a new thread for this car, now that I'll be the next caretaker.

Before leaving the present thread, though, I want to make one correction. I posted that a single Canada-sold 1970 Polara 'vert was built with L31 fender repeaters, but I forgot about the 85/144 cars sold with the A01 Light Package -- which includes the L31 option (I am assuming that the A01 package was the same for all 1970 senior Dodges). Oops!

Love those torque-thrust-Ds . . . Mighty fine!

I'm pretty certain the first car known has the L31 but I'd have to look at the tag before I shoot my mouth off.
Perhaps you can since my stuff is "away".

Do you mean Brent's car, DL27G0D101310? I've never seen the tag for it, but from your 2008 spreadsheet (which you'd posted on the old Yahoo Board) it does have the L31 code.

Does that car have a C VON? Pray tell us more about it?

Yes, its a L31 coded car, I'm certain of it AND its a C VON . With a Y93 code.
Oh, and I don't pray!
