I put a Weiand intake on my 1960 Phoenix dart 318 4bbl, it killed low end torque.
I put the factory 4bbl manifold back on it, and it was a much better driving car.
I would look for a factory 4bbl intake.

I've found it way easier to retrofit a '70s cruise control.
You need the cruise control unit, the throttle linkage add on, the cable mount, the cruise brake light switch, the cruise control turn signal wand, wiring and the 2 piece spedo cable. I don't know when they went to the larger...
Finally reassembling the '66 500's front suspension.
After misplacing the lower control arm nut and panicking, I found it today.
The T bars are in place and tomorrow the rest goes together.
The disk brake lower ball joints are in OK shape, good enough for the 400 miles it gets driven per year...
H all,
I finally have a press so I did my LCA bushings on my '66 Monaco.
I started to install the LCA today and it didn't look right.
Should the stud be pressed all the way until the lip touches the inner bushing metal?
I'm thinking it should.
Here is how it is now, that doesn't look right.
We...
Maybe your vacuum advance was on a full time vacuum port and now it is on a timed port, making the idle timing lower that it was, causing it to have less idle torque.
My $.02
The first thing, the kick down should not be at the limit at full throttle, start out with it relaxed at idle.
First gear uses the forward clutch and the rear sprag unless you are in manual 1st, then it applies the rear band to allow for engine braking.
second gear uses the forward clutch and...
Hopped in the '66 Monaco last night to go to Cruisin' Grand in Escondido and it wouldn't crank.
New battery today and everything is back to normal.
I got 10 years out of the old one, can't complain!
To use the '67 and later torque converter in the '66 trans, swap the stater support, and all the later TCs will work.
It is the backside of the front pump, an easy swap.
I've done it to all my '66 727s
