Hi,its a 1970 Polara, this is the original item,removed due to a short on the indicator side. Item is the spring loaded wheeled plunger, on the replacement (Standard TR7)it's a spring loaded brass plunger that scrapes on the ring, just wondering if anyone has done anything?

Is it possible to replace the horn contact on an aftermarket column switch assy? Fed up with the plunger scraping and jamming, thinking along the lines of a carbon plunger, powdrill brush block thing.

Replaced the pump earlier this year, cleaned lines,tank. replaced filter no obvious leaks. Beginning to get a little tedious. Have ordered new filter,seals etc even voltage regulator.

well the heat riser was stuck closed, with broken springs. now locked open, not like its going to be used in cold conditions. Also found the float has failed so not surprising it flooded. Just waiting for mr Fed Ex to decide if he's going to deliver. :thumbsup: oh and this cursed plague to go...

Hmm.. I fitted a new pump last year when the original one started draining down.

Ah yes! forgot about this. Its not seized but not free, may be the problem, is it possible to tell its position in situ? I was tempted to remove it when I found it seized but it freed off,only to start sticking again.
