66 Polara w/ 318.
Rebuilt my Stromberg WW 3-259 but the throttle shaft is leaking pretty bad, I can't seem to get the idle under 1000 RPM. Rather thank re-bush I'm just gonna go with a remanufactured carb. I can go with either the Stromberg or the Carter.
Which one should I go with?

66 Polara w/ 318 Stromberg WW 3-259, fresh rebuild on the carb. Starts and idles great, when I give it gas revs up smooth and powerful. When I let off motor stumbles and shakes for about 5-10 seconds then dies.
Is this a rich condition? I figured I'd lean each side a quarter turn to see if...
66, I already cleaned it up. passages are blown out and good, just waiting on the rebuild kit to come in. from what I read these carbs are notorious for gumming up around the jets and in the tubes. I wanna do it once and do it right as opposed to tearing it apart 2 or 3 times. Ordered the tool...

here is a pic of the car
this is the exact style of MC I have, no booster.
The rebuild kitbought off Ebay, I'm wondering if I ordered the wrong one.

Mike, I have the manual MC with no booster. thanks for the pic.
Ebay special $17, I ordered the only one I found. I'm thinking it's for a booster set up...
your talking about the boot on the pushrod right? that's getting re-used so it's staying on.
It's been separated since before I...
Hi all, new member from CT. Any tricks to separating the brake pedal pushrod from the MC piston? It's obviously a press fit onto the ball end of the PR... I figure just manhandle it and pull it apart, maybe heat up the piston a bit to expand it. I searched the forum first and nothing about it...
just picked up a 66 Polara in good shape. been building vintage Harleys for a few years and figured I'd step my game up to a full size old school Detroit dinosaur.
