I did this job very recently and made a video of it.

Just fitted the Dorman 742-300 to my 1965 New Yorker. It works fine although listed as only suitable for later cars. Only fettling needed was some spacer washers to get it located correctly on the plate it bolts to. Made a video of the install and put it up here:

Here is a video of screen being installed on my 65 New Yorker in case it helps anyone in the future. I couldn't find much online so filmed it. When people retire there is a danger such skills will be lost.

Thanks. I found some tips on the way the side and top trim clips work from watching this video on screen removal from a Plymouth Valiant and assumed mine would be pretty similar. I showed it to the installers to give them some idea how the trim might come off and it did turn out to be helpful...

It's OK I worked out. If it helps anyone they are 5/32" which is a slightly unusual size but you can find them.

Hi all, Under my steering column is a big cast alloy cover plate held in place with about 6 small bolts. Over here everything is metric. I am missing some of the bolts, can anyone tell me what size they are to save me ordering the wrong ones? Thanks

Interestingly the one replacement light cluster I managed to find, that looks exactly the same from the back of the car, i.e. clear lenses, has one double filament bulb with the red glass dome over it, and one single filament bulb for the backup light. On my car, on each side, there are two...

Interestingly two of the red glass domes are completely red and the other two are red around the sides, turning yellow at the top of the dome. As you say the clear plastic outer lenses are ultra-fragile and have to be handled with great care. One of mine was totally shattered and held together...

I can do that and use a mix of red and amber bulbs. I just wondered if the red glass domes gradually turning yellow was a known 'thing'.
