Formal 5th wheeler

Ummm WTF that didn't come up in the conversation....I was more worried about the hail damage! This I gotta see for myself! 300Rag roadtrip time!!

If you fellas go for a look... lots of pictures and a story... sounds like some of the guys actually approve, the rest of us are watching in outrage... it still has a reasonable price, maybe its not too bad to undo... except for the weird hole you would have left.

Wow that gets me thinking. Bracing for goose neck ball and a 12valve Cummins engine backed up by a 5 speed, now all I need is a drivetrainless formal. Alright derby dummies and drivetrain pillaging lurkers what formal shells do you have for sale, time to contribute instead of just being a useless slug.

Let's not get carried away, it's a novelty at best.

That sounds like an interesting project even without the ball.

No way the Dutchman panel can support a fifth wheeler. A livestock fifth wheeler no less.
The base of the ball would have to be mounted to bracing going directly to the frame and I don't see that.

Regardless, that Stan is a sick puppy.

I disagree, I see a cross brace and a gap in he reflection that is where the upright is. What I don't see is something to help with the front to rear loading. I also thing it needs left to right diagonals to help with the lateral loading.

My first reaction:

But then it reminded me of the 'Shadow' travel trailers that were (briefly, for obvious reasons) marketed in the 70s:

I have hauled livestock and they can move around a one ton truck. I can't imagine this is safe with a small 5th wheel camper, let alone a horse trailer .I hope he at least has electronic brakes on that trailer.

I don't think it's safe and I wouldn't tow anything with it.
