Current bid of US 66,770 not yet at reserve, they probably want over 100k and that'd be a good price for a quality restoration considering what you'd pay to restore it to top condition.

Hmmm , 69,900,- is the buying price iiac……
I don,t see top quality resto under the hood….battery holder/radiator hose/ and to much black?? ( i could be wrong but....?!).
And also for me the 59 is not that nice as the 57/58 front desoto,s.

Back when I was in high school, a friend of my mother offered us a free 1959 Desoto Coupe for me to have. I never saw it in person, but my understanding was that it was a well preserved car that needed minor work to be road worthy. I believe it was black and could even have been an Adventurer, as the owner was an executive for one of the big can manufacturers. The only problem was that the deal required the car to be garage kept, and we only had a tiny one car garage that was already full of stuff.

:BangHead:

There are no bids on this one, or if there were they were retracted, as of right now it shows zero.

This seller always has very nice cars, but I've looked a few times in the past and very few (if any) of their things on ebay show as sold. They now have 'a store' on ebay, and I don't see how to check their completed sales without doing an advanced search by seller name.

They must just be using ebay as an advertising tool and sell cars in-person or something.

Wrong air filter elements too.

Wrong air filter elements too.
Good eye! Are those the taller oval 'side-canister' style that are still available, I wonder.
Some time ago I found a standard element that could be re-formed to fit those oval air cleaners near-perfectly. I just don't know if the height was right.

Steve, is the simulated textured roof a factory option or creative license taken by the restorer/previous owner?
I didn't know this before, too, and raised my eyebrows when I read that. However, it seems original. This article about the 1959 and 1960 DeSoto Adventurer is probably from Collectible Automobile originally, so I guess it is well researched. They write, "To simulate grained leather, the coupe's roof was covered in »Leather-tone«, a textured vinyl-base paint in matching body color."

I think they are the '57 air filter.
Years ago I had a 2-4bbl. set up from a '58 Desoto on a '70 Challenger and I used filter elements for a little Pontiac 4-cyl.(I don't remember the exact application,it has been about 30 years ago) that were not quite oval enough(just had to squash them a little),and were just a little shorter.

I noticed that too, but it was indeed a factory option.

I agree with that as my 57 300C has different design air cleaners that are taller, while my 62 300H has the ones as on that Desoto.
There must be something wrong with me, as I find myself agreeing with you lately on some things!

For $60,000.00, you'll get a car that will outdraw every other vehicle at any show and maybe 3 or 4 old men in hats, at best, will catch the several incorrect laws out f the hundreds of people.
I'm giving this car all three "if's..."

C'mon guys. Seriously.
