Boone Pickens, the billionaire oilman, geologist, and "owner" of Oklahoma State University (to which he gave over $500M) died today at home on Houston at 91 of natural causes. He was from Holdenville, OK. Nice guy!

Born in OK, grew, up in Amarillo, moved to Dallas after he allegedly got tired of the Amarillo people. A colorful and successful man who was very philanthropic in his later years. A good friend spent his last days in a T. Boon Pickens hospice facility in Dallas, back in July. Had the memorial service on the grounds. VERY nice place!

Mr. Pickens supposedly had some stroke and "fall" issues over the past year or so, according to what was said on KRLD-1080AM this afternoon. The station's long-time business reporter had many interviews with Mr. Pickens over the years. I suspect many are archived on the radio station's website.

What if it was it late morning? He wouldn't be down for brunch then. :poke:
