My parking lamps stay illuminated when the headlamps are turned on. Should they? Also, the left front signal "pulses" (doesn't flash) when activated while headlamps are on (right side and rears are fine). I'm thinking either someone before me wired something incorrectly or I have a ground issue. Thanks,

Check the ground on the core support.

Parking lamps should be on when the headlights are on. Having one out was how I knew I had an issue. Then the other one went out. Fun with 50+ year old wiring.
65 Chrysler for sure does not have park lamps on with headlight. Not sure what year they changed, but 69 does.

Thanks, I just realized I never looked to see what year. I'll clarify my post.

Be careful and don't experiment - I expect one can start a fire if the wrong things are jumpered... I am not familiar with which terminals to jump - but others here who do know will chime in.

Not to worry. I put the correct amber bulbs in today> I'll be looking to take any jumper off. I don't want them on. Thanks,

In 1968, the Barracuda’s parking lights stayed on when the headlights came on. It varied from model to model but I believe it became federally mandated in 1970 for all cars.

To error is human, it take a Democrat to **** up!
Unfortuantely, that is not true.
Both parties are screwing up big time, and have been for quite some time.
Each party too busy chasing the other one downhill into the mud.

We are so ripe for a 3rd party to come to the front, but Independents and Libertarians don't have the following and have lame party names.

Lol... apparently they can be made to stay on with a little jumper wire on the headlightvm switch.
Seems to me that a jumper would cause it to work both ways; with just the parks on, it would power the headlights. The cleaner way is to use a relay.
Park lights on were mandated for 1968 as afar as I remember.
If ti seems like the signal is not working when the lights are on, it may be because the wrong filament is illuminated. I have that on my Newport; somehow the wiring is lined up wrong. The signal filament is on, and the running light filament cannot be seen as it flashes.

Verse, Thank you so much for the filament tip off. That is exactly what was wrong with the signal issue. Someone apparently has crossed wires somewhere. I jumpered around the plug, criss-crossing the 2 wires, by the signal lamp and they work fine now. Nice and bright flashing even with the parking/head lamps on. The parking lamps are still illuminated with the headlamps but that is not a bad thing. Thanks again everyone.

Perhaps parking lights were mandated on with the headlights in Canada but my 68 Sport Fury is all original and the parking lights go out when I turn on the headlights. They illuminate when I use my turn signals, but otherwise they are not on with the headlights.
