I had surprise today. My wife found these in a bag with my name on it, on a shelf on the garage today while clean. Can anyone identify them? I blanked out the part number so you can't cheat.

I will admit I had to look it up to figure it out.

Looks like a cover for the back of an instrument panel gauge or something to do with an instrument panel.

No, first hint, it is for my 66 300
Well I'm not stripping mine out to find out what they are, I have no idea, but will be watching!
I just looked and it's NOT the gill trim on the doors, still watching!

You are correct it is not the grill trim on the doors.

Are you going to have to make me dig out my big *** Blue 66 parts book?
My guess, the chrome trim pieces that are behind the bumpers in the corners?
Maybe not with the shape?

The crazy thing is they have been off my car for 6 years and I didn't even realize I was missing them until I found them today. They are behind the louvered trim and fill in the hole.

I thought those were all 1 piece? I've never had mine off, far out!

I think I may have thought they where one piece too. I took them off when I was prepping them for paint and sent the louvers off to be re-chromed. These pieces where in a bag with my name but it is not my hand writing. I think the chrome guys took them off and bagged them, because there is no chrome on these pieces.

I'll be taking one off to look at it later after the java kicks in and report back.

It just hit me that I don't need access from the backside, in theory, to remove them. I hope the years since I removed them last, I don't have the same issue of the finish bolts spin in the receiver nut. Then I'm going to have to take off the wheel well panels too.

I was surprised by how dirty it is behind those things. This is the top drivers side, I wonder why they built them this way???? I'm also missing a mounting screw on this one. I should probably remove them all and do some clean/detailing on them. The day and weekend are not wasted, yet!
