    440 Piston Recommendations

Good luck on your search for pistons. I would just call my engine guy to have him source them for me so I have no suggestions but I’ll tell you that I recently had to buy pistons for a .030 over 440 and it was slim pickings as far as anything readily available. I’d ditch those 346s in favor of...

Anyone Know Any Details About This Terrible Tragedy?

When I worked at a Pontiac store back in 81, a Grand Prix came in with severe roof damage. The Pontiac rep had to witness the car get crushed. I also remember Chevrolet donated a new Monte Carlo to my High School that was a flood car. The VIN was removed.

Anyone Know Any Details About This Terrible Tragedy?

It's been explained to me that any product, regardless of what it is, is considered a total loss when in a transit accident. Shipping containers, tractor trailers, etc. The manufacturer assumes insurance responsibilities on the freight. So, as a precaution against future litigation they just...

Anyone Know Any Details About This Terrible Tragedy?

There's another photo out there of train wrecked C bodies, but I think they are '69 models so they may have happened more than once, or this occurred right at model change over.

    What is your dream car?

40 years later, my dream car is still a '57 300C 2-door hardtop, would be awesome to own Randy Guyer's 300C with crank windows and a manual seat.

What brand lifters do you guys recommend to use with Comp 268/280 Lift .477/.480? Reading many horror stories about wiped cam lobes probably due to poor Comp lifter quality. Thanks.

    Sold Polara on Hemmings

Back in the 90’s an uncle of mine had one just like that. He bought it used, and it was mint . 318 with a three on the tree. Wish I had that car now, seemed pretty unusual.

Anyone Know Any Details About This Terrible Tragedy?

At one time, I worked for an auto salvage company that bought several vehicles that were involved in a train wreck, and were sold at auction for salvage. I don’t recall the brand, Acura/Infinity, etc., but one car I recall clearly. It was a top of the line model, leather, etc., the only damage...

So I do have a question for the ones wiser than I. Is it still count as original if I am forced to use a aftermarket part that is OE equivalent

Anyone Know Any Details About This Terrible Tragedy?

Given the liability of selling a car that could have received structural damage and become a legal safety problem or ongoing warranty issue, it was probably smarter and safer to just salvage them, collect the insurance and build a new car. This is a good example as to why the 'built' and 'sold'...
