Speaker Options when Upgrading OEM Mono Radio

On my Newport, I found a junked car with the side dash cutouts and lifted the speaker grills. I actually removed my Newport window, cut holes in the dash, and installed the painted factory speaker grills. Wanted to maintain the OEM speaker as a "center" channel like Home Theater, but it did not...

Plug n play headlight harness upgrade

Thanks for this how-to post! It opened up new worlds for me. One question- What type of bulbs were those PIA extremes- HID, Halogen, or LED? Why did you choose them over other types?

Are LED headlights a worthwhile upgrade?

Thanks. Not sure I understand why lights would blind everyone else but hardly light up the road for me. You talking about aim? Funny that all new cars have headlight relays, and like you said, my Newport headlight wiring connector is about burned to a crisp. Who makes a headlight relay assembly...

Speaker Options when Upgrading OEM Mono Radio

Thanks. With FM I will be able to hear music in higher fidelity. I was thinking about a new single coaxial speaker, even if for mono sound, that would let me hear some higher frequencies than the OEM speaker. With my Ford Pinto, I went to all the trouble of fabricating a bracket to hold two...

Are LED headlights a worthwhile upgrade?

Thanks. I will check the contacts. My Fury and Newport do not have concealed headlights. Might start first trying them on my Ford Pinto, which will be cheaper, since it does not have dual headlights.

Electric Car Fire at my Neighbors

As if we need another reason to avoid EV's. Saw a video the other day of owners expressing regrets in buying their EVs. Amazing number did not have garages or carports, and had to pay for every charge at charging stations. Can't believe they were so brainwashed to buy them, but at least they...

Speaker Options when Upgrading OEM Mono Radio

The radio in my 1965 Plymouth Fury was only an AM monophonic model. It no longer works, and I am going to convert it to AM/FM and possibly Bluetooth, while maintaining OEM appearance. Will upgrading the original dash speaker make a difference in sound? I have an option of mono, stereo, or...

Are LED headlights a worthwhile upgrade?

You got to admit, one thing that is an improvement with new cars is the power of the headlights. I feel like I am driving blind when driving my classic cars at night. Ran across a company called Headlight Experts. The sell glass light shells that look like OEM, but have modern LED healights...

Do C bodies use the same outside mirrors as other MOPAR bodies?

This side-by-side pillar was indeed for the Imperial. The twin pillar for the Fury was one pillar in front of the other. Although in catalogs, I have never seen them on the cars. I reviewed some photos of Furies for sale today and they all had single pillar ones.

I have searched all over for these trim clips!

And have not found them, or a suitable substitute. They hold narrow trim strips outside of the windows on my 1965 Plymouth Fury III. They measure about 18mm long and 7mm wide. In the photo, you can see one intact, and another broken off with the peg inside the hole.

What is the secret to durable engine painting?

I had my 1965 Fury in the restoration shop for some work. While it was there, the reputable shop painted the valve covers and some sort of paint on the exhaust manifold before putting it back together After about a year of running it is peeling off in patches. I guess the only durable coating...

Do C bodies use the same outside mirrors as other MOPAR bodies?

Thanks. The damaged one on my 1965 looks like the Match-mate. Guess that twin-pillared one not pictured on this page began to be offered in 1966. But I might go rogue and put it on my 1965. Never seen one that resembles the conical on any Mopar. Must not have been popular. Funny thing in one...

Do C bodies use the same outside mirrors as other MOPAR bodies?

Thanks for this, although it is mainly about 66s. There are tons of mirrors repros available online market '66. What changed after 1965? One of the '66 single post mirrors look exactly like the one on my 1965 Fury. Sure don't want to have differing mirrors on either side!

Do C bodies use the same outside mirrors as other MOPAR bodies?

I needed to replace the driver's side mirror on my 1965 Plymouth Fury III, and would like to add a passenger side mirror at the same time. 1. I see plenty of reproduction mirrors advertised for sale for A and B bodies, but none for C bodies. Do all body styles share the same outside mirrors...

At LAST! A REAL Custom Seat Cover Maker, with GOOD Product!

The question is how easy are they to remove when we want to display the car in her full glory at a car show. I want something that is not too hard to remove.

Intermittent headlights all of the sudden

I don't understand. I don't have a cell phone. How do I contact an address with @ in front of it?

Intermittent headlights all of the sudden

BOTH problems occurred. No instrument lights, AND headlights turn on and then go off. I will check the dimmer switch, but I can't imagine that getting plugged and unplugged. And I am sure it has nothing to do with the dash lights. But thanks for the tips!

Intermittent headlights all of the sudden

When I took my 1965 Plymouth Fury over to a mechanic's house last winter, everything worked more or less OK, except a rough idle. That was the thing I wanted worked on. The mechanic got busy doing other things, and the car was left sitting outside for about 9 months. When I picked it up, there...

Where is the Turn Signal flasher on 1965 Fury?

Yeah, but it does not work, so I cannot locate it by sound. I can remove the ash tray. That will provide a portal up under the dash. Guess I will go with an electronic blinker. That way I can go with LEDs or incandescent bulbs.

Where is the Turn Signal flasher on 1965 Fury?

Thanks. I will look there. With factory A/C there is so much junk under the dash it is hard to find things. Wanted to take the clock, radio, and heat/A/C control out for rebuilding, but I am not willing to tackle that. Do need the turn signal, however. How strange that in the factory manual it...
