I wouldn’t rule out reusing your original. Get it out, clean it up and lather it up with some Fast Orange hand cleaner for a few days. That stuff will soften it up. You could also call Murray Park in Ohio as he may have some good used if for some reason yours isn’t saveable. Www.cbodies.com

What he’s saying in addition to his fan/shroud recommendation you should make sure all the areas surrounding the radiator are blocked off so that the air has nowhere else to go but through the radiator.

I think ideally there needs to be an inch between the leading edge of the fan and the radiator.

That could be 12/21/‘72 but I’ve used the Google to figure these markings in the past and you should do the same to verify.

I remember him from the mid ‘80s and I think he still has the white Superbird.

I’ve never been a watcher of these videos or any videos for that matter that aren’t directly helping me do something I might not have done before. I don’t appreciate my time being wasted and that’s all most of these vidoits do with their regurgitated info.

Everything I said was prefaced by “according to the ‘67 parts book”. I also didn’t concur with there being more single snorkel air cleaners for the 440 than what the parts book states.

All you could get in a ‘67 Imp was the “low horse” 440…

I currently have 2 ‘67 Imps so I’m well aware of what they look like and I also have a couple of spare ‘67 air cleaners from Imperials. Without having looked at any reference materials accept the ‘67 parts book I will say I don’t recall seeing a short round single snorkel air cleaner on a 440...

You know I have to say I use gaskets every time and haven’t experienced one failure or exhaust leak at the head…

Nope. At least not according to the ‘67 parts book. There were 2 versions of the single snorkel for the 440, w & w/out cap and thats it.

Actually by my second post I had 440 stuck in my head so if he needs a correct one for a 383 or one with 2 snorkels I can’t help. There’s only 2 part numbers for a 440 with single snorkel in 1967, with and without c.a.p..

I’ve got a set of valve covers in good condition and 1 extra ‘67 air cleaner that someone modified by adding an incorrect crankcase vent nipple.

Is he looking to be absolutely factory correct? Pristine parts?

If the valve is closed and there’s no pressure on the rocker they jiggle freely like that. Put the covers back on Post another video with a cold start.
