Exact Replacement A/C Components Now Becoming Available for Our C bodies

You know... I have some assorted fuselage C-Body A/C heater boxes stashed away. They aren't good enough to put in a car and I was saving them just for the heater cores and evaporators. The boxes are nothing to me though... If @CoolerClassics is interested (and a little patient, can't do it...

And another question about current values.

Ok Stan, YOU are the baddest assed bad ***; badder than all the other people who have hated the AutoTemp II around these parts.

1972 Imperial Lebaron Auto Temp II Climate Control System

The Autotemp II systems are not difficult to get working primarily because of Performance Analysis Company's efforts to supply remanufactured ones including the availability of the new amplifiers. The only other things that need to be done correctly are all the hoses routed to their correct...

    The 1972 Chrysler Thread

It looks like a non-stereo am/fm search tune radio rather than stereo. Wind up windows and a non-working Autotemp II system. I just hope the driver caught the car overheating from lack of coolant in time when that servo failed probably at least twice in the wagon's past. Nice low miles...

    SOLD 1973 Chrysler Imperial

A prospective buyer might want to know the miles on it - I think it might be showing almost 57K on it? Also, while it has the Autotemp II system on it, I also see it has the remanufacturered Performance Analysis Company controller under the hood so it is surprising that the system doesn't...

    1971 Plymouth Fury Gran Coupe

...was just way too expensive (€ 38k was the pricetag on the ad back then). I recall it was all original with very low milage, but the AC (AutoTemp II) wasn't working and it had been repainted according to the friendly seller. That was not acceptable for me at that price. I hope one day I'll...

    Is/Was Your 74-78 here?

Mine were/ are there. As you know the Imperials moved on, but I still have the wagon. It's still a great source for some "How to" articles. It was the only place that explained Autotemp II for the longest time. I'm still good friends with the site owner.

NOT MINE 72 Imperial 4 dr not mine

A bunch more pics have been added. The car has H53 AutoTemp II (ATC2), whose A/C I would guess does not work; the key question to ask is whether the heater does. The interior looks in great condition, except perhaps for a couple of fraying seams on the driver's seat bottom.

Exact Replacement A/C Components Now Becoming Available for Our C bodies

@saforwardlook you made me feel like I was not crazy and I want to thank you for that. Before posting on the forum I went through my fathers achieves of messages, returns and samples but could not narrow things down enough to make sense of why it would work for some but not all. My father would...

    Manual air or AutoTemp II?
  11. Mr C

Anyone know where this vacuum hose comes from?

Just checked on my 77 T&C...although mine is Autotemp II it should be the same spot. Look under the wiper motor...about an inch above the pinch weld on the firewall....right across from the oil pressure sending unit on your B/ RB.

NOT MINE 72 Triple black NYB sunroof coupe - Not Mine

So should we infer that the Autotemp II system and power sunroof are fully functional as well (statement in the CL listing says "needs nothing")? If so, given the other work done to the car, and given that it has the rare sunroof and is triple black with all the desirable options, I would...

Chrysler sold Mercedes Benz the patent rights to copy the Autotemp II systems, which they made much better quality than Chrysler's original ones, and so they are now available along with the amplifiers and associted items...

...weeks. Looks like the leather would be very nice after giving it some Leatherique, and the paint/chrome look good too. Too bad the H53 AutoTemp II does not work. From the ad: "Just pulled it out of the barn. All original. In real good condition.440 motor. Runs a little rough probably...

Update from Quirey Quality Design on Washer Bottles for Fuselage Cars

I would like to offer another source for radio conversions that maintain the original looks. They have converted 4 radios for me and each was perfect and maintained the OE look. They even did the small frame radio for my '70 power wagon even though it was a challenge. The web site is Auto...

    Someone school me on AutoTemp

As I’m about to start tackling the AC system on my car, I’d like to get a heads up and the lowdown on AutoTemp. If there’s already a good thread which I’m sure there is - feel free to point me in that direction. What’s the difference between AutoTemp I and II? What’s the difference between...

AutoTemp II used in Mercedes? But you probably knew that..

I just came across this video that shows a Chrysler AutoTemp II control servo in a Mercedes. It makes me laugh that Mercedes outsourced their climate control to Chrysler. Anyway the video is fun to watch and the tech does mention that there is a source for a metal replacement for the servo...
