727 trans pan gasket that doesn't leak??

Spray everything down with brake cleaner and find a BIG piece of flat cardboard to place under the oil pan, on the floor. That way, you can remove the cardboard to see exactly where the drops were coming from, rather than speculating after moving the car. The shift shaft seal, along with the...

NOT MINE 1971 Imperial LeBaron 4dr on eBay

The Imperialists got me there. I was aware of the windshield antenna in '71, just didn't put one and one together. The power antenna sitting flush on the Imperials is news to me, and the reasoning makes sense.

    For Sale NOS shocks

The 4-series part number should indicate something in the 1980s? As this was what appears to be a Mopar Parts situation rather than OEM Chrysler Parts, it could be "anything", unfortunately. Which can mean they were in a separate catalog than the normal Chrysler Parts Manual. From about the...

727 trans pan gasket that doesn't leak??

Could be the pan too. I saw this the other day... (not my pic) and it's a Summit Chevy rear end cover. Note the bolt holes don't match.

727 trans pan gasket that doesn't leak??

Are you sure that's where it's leaking? Quite a few of the trans gasket leaks are actually leaks from the transmission shift seal and throttle link seal. That's a bit dependent on the year... Earlier transmissions with the cable shift don't have that shifter seal, but they still have the...

727 trans pan gasket that doesn't leak??

I've rarely seen a pan leaking that loose bolts wasn't the reason. I've lost count of the number of leaking fill tube Orings that drool into the pan rail that make it look like the pan is leaking... Selector/kickdown shaft seals are a close second. Kevin

rebuilt 301 strobes at around 3k RPM or 40 mph

Nothing in the power steering pump to get out of balance. If you feel it in the steering wheel, and the front tires are balanced, it could be a front u-joint. The tell-tale is that it comes and goes. I'm suspecting the u-joint. CBODY67

NOT MINE '68 Fury - Claimed low mileage.

...I would need to get into the asking price neighborhood (which doesnt scare me, unless car's story don't hang together). I do (would) have a s*** ton of questions, again were I remotely a player here. :). Still a nice car. I do like it. I wish it well. Maybe someone here will check it out...

The old stalling when put in gear syndrome

Well at least you listened to advice. Thye lag might be the Acel pump needs adjustment on the carb.

rebuilt 301 strobes at around 3k RPM or 40 mph

A kind of in and out vibration like somethings out of balance. I feel it in the steering wheel so it could be the power steering pump but I'm going to listen further today.

    Installing Edelbrock 1906 carburetor

That "hole" is a manifold vac vac tap. Some GM applications used that location to run the power brake booster, in some model years. If your engine has the vac tap for the power brakes on an intake manifold runner, keep that and PLUG the hole in the carb with a supplied pipe plug in the bag of...
