    New Member, New Polara

I just read your thread from the beginning, a great read. Always amazing what bodgery can lie under the paint of an old car, I remember one holden panelvan I had where I discovered new outer sill/rockers had been tacked on top of the original rusted out ones - after grinding off buckets of...

    AFTERMARKET REPLACEMENT RADIATOR SUGGESTIONS

I recommend US Radiator for the Top Quality copper jobs. OER makes an assortment of them too. Alas, I'm constrained by a 22" radiator yoke, so I must use radiators which have a bit more depth to get the necessary surface area AND volume to cool my 383 in urban southern AZ heat. U.S. Radiator...

Is this an OK way to reinforce a front sub-frame?

From what I could tell, and I went over the entire frame with various rotating abrasive appliances, the entire length of the 2 segments of each rail are welded with a continuous weld, the weld being somewhat variable consistency. Two U-shaped pieces joined side-by-side, welded in a long seam...

    Gas Tanks

You'll probably need to re-use the existing filler tube. The replacement tanks fit from '66-'73, with differences in the number of connections for vents, evap emissions, and such. Check the catalogs at www.rockauto.com and the SpectraPremium website for verification. CBODY67

Is this an OK way to reinforce a front sub-frame?

The weld seam on our '66 Newport looks kind of sloppy to me. Segmented welds, not solid. No issue with draining moisture as it's all open. I questioned the segments, rather than being solid, and our trusted mechanic claimed it was better/stronger that way. CBODY67
