    1964 Chrysler Newport questions

Hello, let me add a bit to this. The A833 4 speed was available in 1964 on all models of Chryslers so long as they had either of the 4 barrel motors (361 and 413). If a console was ordered (standard in a letter car) then the shifter would come up next to it, not through it. I believe any model...

    Factory 4-Speed-C-Body-Photo-Thread

Hello, thanks for the interest. That's a cool article and I know of that shop. I have 2 friends who know the family but they never seem to bring up this topic for me... I have seen 2 other 4 speed sports online, a black 383 4 door, and a green(?) convertible, also a 383. But that's as much as...

    Factory 4-Speed-C-Body-Photo-Thread

Hello and thank you. It did survive pretty well, Al loved it and cared for it as best as possible. Cars also survive pretty well here in Colorado. Yes, it's all my junk. The visible ones are a 63 Catalina 421H.O. 3x2 4 speed, a 66 2+2 4bbl 4 speed and a 62 Galaxie converted to a 390 4 speed...

    Factory 4-Speed-C-Body-Photo-Thread

Hello, what a great thread. My contribution is my 1964 Chrysler 300 Sport, 413 4 speed. The dealer on the window sticker (East Colfax Chrysler) is not the dealer it was sold at. Original owner, Alfonzo, traded his 54(?) Chrysler in on it at a different dealer (Farland-Buell Chrysler) on...

    Factory 1963 300J 4-speed

Hello, I am in search of production numbers of non letter car 64's with 4 speeds. Any one have that info? And, to clarify, 64 and 65 are the only years a Chrysler (not Dodge or Plymouth) can be a 4 speed? No 66's, 67's etc.? Neat thread, Thank you, Geoff

    4spd C Body's

64's and 65's don't use the light. It was a 68 and later Hurst combination.

    4spd C Body's

My 2 cents on that is, inlands had a reverse lock out, where Hurst's did not. I think it was a safety thing in Mopars mind as no other mfg ever did something like that.

    4spd C Body's

In regards to it being an "option", if you're referring to it as an extra cost, that's not the case. A shifter change or difference would have been a change over. They went from one manufacturer to another. It was not an option like an AM/FM radio. Hurst was initially used in 4 speed Mopars (64...

    4spd C Body's

Hello, from what I have learned on B-bodies, and I would assume it crosses over to all lines, Hurst's have a reverse light and Inland's do not. It appears to be a mid 68 transition (at least in B-bodies). I have never heard an explanation as to why, but that seems to be the case.

Detroit/St Clair Shores, do you know this Pontiac 2+2?

Cuda Hunter, the 69 G.P. was quite easy. It's all GTO parts minus the Z-bar bracket and console bezel. I fab'ed a Z bar bracket with the front clip off, and creatively made a console bezel from an auto with the help of a GTO console "ring" I have seen since that the frame bracket and the...

Detroit/St Clair Shores, do you know this Pontiac 2+2?

Hello Cuda Hunter, I am sorry, I worded that poorly. The black car is also a 66 2+2. But am still looking for the pass door and 1/4 molding.... I have 69 SJ that I converted to a 4 speed before I ever drove it! It was saved from certain death.

Detroit/St Clair Shores, do you know this Pontiac 2+2?

Hello, the folks on this site seem to be very friendly to all cars, but much more so to Pontiacs. I am hoping you can help me find a previous owner to a recently (June-2020) purchased '66 2+2 4-speed. I am looking to find any previous owner history. The most recent owner/seller was nothing...
