My car doesn't like hot weather

Well, an update. We finally have some HOT weather. It got into the low to mid 90's today and I took the car out to see how she'd act. The car was running great while it was coolish; no issues to speak of. So today I took a ride of about 10 miles to get everything warmed up and nominal. No...

Well, pomon, your in CA, so I guess it's a good time for a cookout any time it's not raining! A cookout in Jan here; it's the coldest time of the year. Which brings up something if often wondered about concerning the cars original owners. I can't imagine buying a car in Jan of all months...

I was planning to celebrate my car's 50th birthday. I've got all the original dealer paperwork on the car. At least all the paperwork the owners got on delivery. Anyway the car was an ordered car. It was ordered in Dec 1966 and the new owners took delivery on Jan 5, 1967. Unfortunatly I had...

    Torsion bars

Yeah, I've had my car 12 yrs and have spent maybe 40K in repairs. That's been over that 12 yr period so my income tax refund practically takes car of my yearly expense. I did a calculation recently and price I paid to buy the car and the cost of my upgrades and upkeep thought of as a monthly...

    Torsion bars

My car doesn't like hot weather

That was just a number for discussion sake. I usually set the idle up near 700. Anyway, I drove the car a bit yesterday and today. Like I mentioned, were in a cool spell with it staying in the 60's for the next week or so, The temp went up to 180 and pretty much stayed there. Otherwise the...

My car doesn't like hot weather

Well, I just got my car back from my mechanic. He's had it almost a MONTH. Of course he doesn't work on my car all the time while he has it. Anyway, I had a whole list of things for him to attend to, most off them minor issues. Of course a major issue was the cooling issue and thus this...

My car doesn't like hot weather

Though it sounds funny because of this post, my car came with the "heavy duty" cooling system! That included a 26" rad, 4 blade fixed fan and a box shroud. You say the thermal clutch; which one is that? The one with the spring on the front face?? Anyway, no debris in the rad and I have a...

My car doesn't like hot weather

Thanks guys! My car doesn't have A/C and originally had a fixed 4 blade fan with the 26" rad with shroud. The fan and the original rad are lost. Probably foolishly trashed when my car was in a shop for 6 months while the engine was overhauled and other work was done. Sort of a partial...

My car doesn't like hot weather

I've got a 67 300 with 440 TNT engine and automatic. The car runs fine with no issues as long as the temperature is below 80 degrees. Once it gets hotter than that it has two issues that make it annoying to drive. The first one's been with me since I've owned the car (12 yrs) and the other...

Which do you like better? Slab side or Fuselage?

Interesting what was said; we seldom see "formals" at car shows. I wonder why that is. Were there so much less "formals" produced than the slabs or the fuseys??

What's wrong with my rearview mirror?

I've managed to adjust the pass side mirror on my 67 300. It is useful. I rely on it all the time when I'm changing lanes. One thing we really have to be thankful for; our cars have MUCH better all round visibility then any of the newer cars do.

What other brand cars has your car been misstaken for??

I forgot to tell you all about the most ridiculous time my car was mistaken for another brand. My friend and I were stopped at a traffic light and an older guy in a Ford workvan pulled up along side us in the turning lane. We couldn't understand what he was saying at first because the radio...

Which do you like better? Slab side or Fuselage?

Thanks for all the comments guys! Yes, I agree, different strokes for different folks. My 67 300 has the original leather interior (bucket seats) and it is still serviceable. The foam is old and crumbling away and I find it on the floor all the time. Despite that, the seats are still really...

Which do you like better? Slab side or Fuselage?

That's what I'd really like to know; hear from someone who has all three. How do you compare them, styling, handling and ride, quality control and reliability.

Which do you like better? Slab side or Fuselage?

You guys are TOO much:thumbsup:. Someone starts a thread about C body Mopars and folks start talking about Gremlins and Dusters! Its all good though far as I'm concerned:steering:

Which do you like better? Slab side or Fuselage?

Its all very interesting and all pretty much a matter of personal taste. One thing I can tell you though; my 67 300 'vert receives plenty of attention and "thumbs up" whenever I drive it. It seems Everyone loves the car and its got to be about the styling since that makes the first impression...

Which do you like better? Slab side or Fuselage?

I tend to agree with you guys. The formals were really nice, too bad they were burdened with all that emission crap.

Which do you like better? Slab side or Fuselage?

I hope this doesn't start TOO Much controversy. But which do you prefer?? I've got a 67 300 'vert and I really like the styling but back in the day when these cars were new I was crazy about the fusey style. Now, I like the slabs better; mostly for practical reasons. Though the slab sided C...

    Wondering about production numbers

Don't know if I mentioned this. I had never seen a 67 300 before I saw mine!! I had seen 65's, 66's and 68's but never a 67. My favorite has always been the 66 and I figured the 67 couldn't be THAT different. When I went to see my car for the first time it was sitting outside a storage...
