66 Monaco wagon woodgrain trim clips

2 questions: Do they remake these trim clips? I can't find anything in my searches. I believe they are 6001-641. Will they pop out just by pulling (using a trim remover). I was able to remove this one because I could access the backside by removing the taillight. They "squeeze" and will pop...

    Underhood Ammeter Bypass

Just wanted to say thanks for posting this. I was able to do this to the car today - took less than 10 minutes and cost under $20. I even printed up this thread for the car's records so the next owner doesn't have to scratch their head and wonder what the extra wires are for...

    1966 Monaco Wagons

I guess I should have led in with this... I do not candy-coat my description of the car, because I am not a salesman, or at least not a good one, and I'm not trying to sell it right now. I've gone to see enough cars and been utterly disappointed with the seller's description, which often is an...

    1966 Monaco Wagons

I value it between $14K - $16K. Like I said - this is more about finding out how many of these might be left out there in similar condition, and what the wagon market might do in the next couple years. I realize its not a fuselage, which seem to be going for stupid money on occasion. My first...

    1966 Monaco Wagons

Hey all, I'm starting to throw around the idea of selling my wagon. In the 3.5 years I have owned it, I've only ever seen 3 others for sale, only one other that I'd say is comparable condition (TXDon). I've only ever known of one person on here that has one. What's everyone's thoughts on...

    Total power loss

Figured it out! Whatever the secondary wire that connects to the positive terminal popped out. Back on the road. Thanks to all!

    Total power loss

More info. I messed with the battery connections, no issue or corrosion. Nothing at all has power. I had the heater on this morning, can’t remember if it was on or off when I shut it down. I actually parked the car, decided to move it a fe more feet, restarted and moved, shut down. Realized...

    Total power loss

Hey all, Forgive me for not doing a proper search first. I’m at work and using my phone... I drove my 66 Monaco wagon to work today, and got a total power loss when I parked it. No power to anything. Where do I start? Thanks Joe

66 Monaco Wagon - Cargo Area Panel Trim

Don, When I got my wagon it had the same - no chrome strips in the Monaco. I couldn't find a good affordable alternative, and I wanted the sound deadening of fabric or carpet. I would have preferred finding the original style chrome strips, but those are hard to find, and when I did find them...

What is this and what does it connect to?

Many thanks to both of you.

What is this and what does it connect to?

I do still have the thermal switch and there is vacuum line running to it. Should I cap and disconnect from the system as well?
  16. 66MonacoWagon

What is this and what does it connect to?

Yup - my vacuum advance goes straight to the carb. Is it recommended that I still bypass? I'm guessing yes.
  17. 66MonacoWagon

What is this and what does it connect to?

In the lower left hand corner, cylindrical part. I have a vacuum hose coming out the end that is not connected to anything, and it looks like there might be another port at the top. It is a 71 440 - I'm still learning on this one... Many thanks Joe

    Who know(ses) about hoses?

I have both a 71 300 with the 440 and a 66 383 (4v). I want to progressively start replacing all rubber hoses (vacuum lines, radiator overflow, heater, etc). Is there a resource on the proper sizes and lengths? If I were going to buy some in bulk, what should I buy and how much? I apologize...

    C-Body Car-B-Que

Cause I am! I was rushing, didn’t research the proper way to diagnose or dismantle the power window unit. Thought “oh, just held on by there by three little bolts”. The look on ones spouse when you walk in with your hand in a bloody rag is priceless..luckily it didn’t hit the tendon
