The hitch is aftermarket. That bumper extension itself is a factory option. The hole where the trailer hitch is sticking though would have originally been the reverse light.

    Nice looking airport limo

Mike McCandless bought that a few years back, not sure if he still owns it or not.

Is someone willing to take on a difficult project?

As Sixtyf said, the trim and grill doesn't match for a New Yorker. Here's pics of a New Yorker for comparison The grill is completely different and it does not have the side spear trim Also notice the gill trim on the quarter panel. This is the easiest was to spot any New Yorker from 57-62...

I'm not knowledgeable with the exports at all. I believe the lower trim model for the Mexican market was called the "Kingsway". Here's a 2 door version Dodge Kingsway Commercial Utility in "The Blue Iguana"

Is someone willing to take on a difficult project?

That is actually a Newport not a New Yorker. It will have the 361 cu in engine not a 413. Sadly, it's going to hard to find anyone interested in it other than a parts car.

1961 Dodge Seneca, where is it?

I agree $2789 isn't exactly pocket change today. But, what 2010 or 2011 car can I buy today for less than $3K that's in Fair to Good condition? And, what should I feel about protecting it for prosperity? Another interesting comparison - If $375 in 1966 = $2,789 in 2016 and the respective...

Is someone willing to take on a difficult project?

Is it a 2 door or 4 door? Hardtop or pillared sedan? I've never seen or heard of a manual transmission in a New Yorker but I don't follow the 62's that closely. I thought manual transmissions were mostly used in the 300's and Newports.

1961 Dodge Seneca, where is it?

Great find! I think it's also an interesting commentary about the desirability of Forwardlook cars in the later 1960's through the 1980's. This Dodge should have sold new for around $2300-$2400. Only being worth $375 5 years later is barely holding 15% of it's value. It could also be assumed...

    Newport in the woods ...

You know, to put that into current times it would be like a woman today refusing to date a guy with a 2004 Lexus because her KIA is a 2015 :wtf: Back in '92, I was picking up a girl for a date. She refused to come out of her "trailer home" because she didn't want to be seen any where near my...

    Newport in the woods ...

As Steph said, it belongs to John Fowlie (Big M). You can check out his build thread here: Viewing a thread - The Resurrection of 'Rusty' [the '59 Sport Fury]

For comparison, this one was recently restored. (some will probably recognize it)

    Newport in the woods ...

No arguing here either. I certainly can't dispute the possibility of a tree in the very near future. I shouldn't have quoted your original comment specifically and just made a general statement instead.

    Newport in the woods ...

Be thankful someone was "too stubborn to sell" all those years ago as at least it's there to be seen today in any condition. A 1961 car could have been junkyard bound as early as late 60's. These cars were not desirable at all in the 70's / 80's. If it had sold during that time, it would have...

Don't underestimate a Forwardlook convertible. I've seen much worse that eventually get restored.

can someone here help me? Doors won't stay shut

You can download the 1960 Dodge Service Manual here: MyMopar - Mopar Forums & Information - Service Manuals It should have detailed instructions for removing the door panel and servicing the latch assembly.

can someone here help me? Doors won't stay shut

Your latch may only need lubrication and adjustment but it could also have damaged/worn out parts. There are actually two sets of tumbler-gears on the latches. The visible one may look to be in perfect condition, but, you will only be able to see the inner/hidden one's condition after you...

WHY FINS? 1960 PLYMOUTH COMMERCIAL EXPLAINS FINS

That's the same opinion I have. The 1957 and 1958 Imperials are virtually identical in design except for the front bumper and grille. The 1957 grille looks like a 1959 Plymouth and the bumper looks like it belongs on a 1957 Dodge. (btw, the 57 and 58 used different frames and swapping bumpers...

WHY FINS? 1960 PLYMOUTH COMMERCIAL EXPLAINS FINS

Thanks! Obviously, 58's are my favorite for many reasons. It's fun surprising people with all the options they had back then. Ironically, the one in my avatar has manual windows which is rare for an Imperial. Here's a better pic of it.

WHY FINS? 1960 PLYMOUTH COMMERCIAL EXPLAINS FINS

Yes, purely a sales gimmick. They're exactly like two big boat rudders sticking up in the air. Try driving one across flat *** Kansas with a +30 mph crosswind and I doubt you'll keep it in a straight line. I would assume that since this video is for 1960 (one of the last years with fins), that...
