    1970 Chrysler Newport Question

Stub frame. I'm going to guess your subframe bushings are gone. You must be hearing a "clunk" going over bumps and feeling some flex. Interesting... Yours looks to be only three sides where as I've only seen them completely boxed in. I'm dealing with a '72 so maybe the '70 was different? - MG

    door weatherstrip seals

More details... That came from C Body Mopar Parts Exchange group on FB. If you search any of the info in the ad, it pops right up (if your part of the group, I'm assuming)

    door weatherstrip seals

Saw a post for door seals for a '70 300 4 door. Guessing they'd work fine for your Polara.

1973 Chrysler Newport rear bumper removal

Watching... My valance is off and I started to play the guessing game w/ the bolts inside of the trunk. Service manual has been little help. The '72 Newport page showing the rear bumper doesn't even have a valance in the diagram.

What's the best plan for this rust at the rear window?

It's more like a rubber seal that they laid down and then set the glass in. Here are a few photos. Truth be told, this was done at the metal shop and once I picked it up, I noticed that the trim clips were not put in before the glass was re-installed. They were in the trunk...... Needless to...

For Sale in GA - 1972 Newport roller *not mine*

Nope. After he and I spoke a few times, it came out that someone cut a patch out of the driver's side front fender. I'm guessing that's why. Also, I asked for a few more pics including the fender tag but I got the quote for shipping before he was able to produce them. Sorry.

For Sale in GA - 1972 Newport roller *not mine*

Since I was made aware of this car on this site in a thread, I thought I'd post it after going back-and-forth with the guy. Too much to ship it to me in Maine. Rust free two door and the guy has been very responsive and seems willing to work to make a sale. 1972 Chrysler Newport "Rare 2 door...

What's the best plan for this rust at the rear window?

Just did this in November. Called the local glass shop and they came over, took it out, came back when the metal work was done and put it back in. Front and back glass. $200. Was worth every penny.

    70-73 stub frame bushings

I'm taking the Newport out of the garage this weekend, which will give me access to my replacement stub. I'll take the measurements for you and report back.

    70-73 stub frame bushings

I have a '72 Newport and the closest thing I could find were poly bushings for a '73 Coronet (although the link says Charger). Thinking they were universal parts coming out of the factory, I took a chance. I picked up my replacement stub (thanks, @Wollfen) and after placing them in the spots...

Replacing stock speakers in my '72 Newport

Wow.. Not sure how I missed that. That thread covers it. I like the idea of keeping it original. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. Having a working stereo is going to be a huge improvement. This site looks like a great way to go. Classic Car Speakers

Replacing stock speakers in my '72 Newport

Good morning everyone, One of the winter projects I wanted to tackle with my '72 Newport Royal coupe was to swap out the dry rotted factory speakers so my tunes aren't coming out of the bluetooth speaker sitting on the dash, connected to my phone. I'm guessing any 6x9 or 6x8 will work for the...

My '72 Newport being held hostage by COVID-19 pt. 1

Yea, the guy had put this dual exhaust on right before he sold it and had planned to cut them back and put chrome tips on but didn't. I've left them mostly b/c I've had more pressing issues to address. People do point them out often. I think it makes the car seem longer (if that's possible).

My '72 Newport being held hostage by COVID-19 pt. 1

Huh.... I see what you're saying. Never thought it would but I agree with the two examples you've provided. I was thinking it would go with the black trim. Thanks for the examples. Maybe paint the top gold. Keep us up to date with what you get done. I was looking at SMS but have read here that...

My '72 Newport being held hostage by COVID-19 pt. 1

I couldn't help but notice how similar your car looked to mine in the pictures. Beautiful car, BTW! Although I'm a "back to factory" kind of guy, I'm thinking I might be changing the top to black. As you can see, I peeled the middle section off to see the condition and It's pretty good. Just...

Throttle body to sensor(?) in air cleaner vacuum line question

I didn't see anything flowing down the carb after shutting it off but as I turned it on and off a few times to look, fuel started to seep right where the needle is located. Looks like that is the issue. Judging by how dirty this all is, a rebuild might be the way to go since it has to be...

Throttle body to sensor(?) in air cleaner vacuum line question

I do put it up for the winter and fire it up every week. Last winter was my first, so I appreciate the guidance regarding winter storage. I'll be taking a look at the carb in a bit to check for debris under the needle preventing the correct seal. I know I search this forum and learn a lot from...
