1972 subframe removal question - for someone who has done it

Good question. The frame that is in my car now is actually from a 1969 Dodge Polara. These are solid mount frames, no rubber isolators that are found on ‘70-‘73 hardtops. There is a great thread on here that dives into great detail about the differences between solid mount and torsion quiet...

1972 subframe removal question - for someone who has done it

Here is how I did mine. First, strip down the nose, fenders hood, rad support, etc. Then build a rolling support that will span the pinchwelds of the car. Next support the front with Jack stands at the pinchwelds, and also by the stub frame. Then remove the bolts supporting the stub...

convertible fuselage header and dutchman panel removal

Removing this to be useful might prove tricky. It is all welded together at the pinch welds and on the ends. You can't just cut through (like the pictured example) that would render it useless (as well as ruining many saw blades). It would have to be removed from each end at the factory seems...

convertible fuselage header and dutchman panel removal

My top frame header is toast, but I have another frame on order. If you can separate the header and list it here someone may need it and it will be easier to ship.

convertible fuselage header and dutchman panel removal

Remove the dutch panel as one piece, inner, outer and drip rails, and as much or the associated quarter panels. Header is supposed to be adjustable, but most times rusted solid. Why do you want to save just the header?

    70 300 Convertible Top Frame

Well, I guess this one is toast. Header is rotted pretty bad. It looks like it can be unbolted from the rest of the frame. Anyone have experience with fixing these? Before I waste time digging into it, do you think this is as simple as cutting out the bad and welding in fresh metal? TIA.
