Thanks to @67valiant 100 and @71Polara383 I learned today of two 1970 'verts that were junked, and we have the tags.

DL27L0D155358 was an FK5 70 Polara Ragtop whose owner, in Concord NH, "bought for $ 100 in the late 80s, it drove excellent, my buddies and I drove it everywhere, with the Top Down, the only problem was the Rotted Rear Frame, I sold it for $ 250 and years later found it in a junkyard, next to a 70 Fury." SBD of Nov. 10, 1969. @polara71 would have liked the color combo and black buckets/console.

The Fury iii in question is/was PM27G0D161739 -- an EB5 blue ragtop whose SBD was very close, Nov. 18, 1969.

I think of fender tags from long gone cars like a tombstone.

They are the last remnant of something that once existed but no longer does. It is the only tangible item left that documents the uniqueness of that particular car.

From a practical stand point, all tags are one small piece of a very large jigsaw puzzle. Once you put together the pieces (tags) from all cars, still existing and not, it gives us a picture as to how the factory did things.

Data from cars that no longer exist help give us insight (relative color preferences, option take rate, etc) about cars that still do. Information from these two cars will be added to the database of cars already known to help reinforce and shape what we do know.

We have an update regarding a 1970 Newport convertible. We last saw this car ten years ago:

and I posted the tag in the present thread back in Nov. 2022. She is currently for sale in South Dakota, with a 1969 300 front clip. Originally EB7 with E6X9 vinyl buckets interior, CE27L0C237481 has seen way better days. SBD is May 15, 1970.

@62dodge -- would you consider posting the entire fender tag for records? Yours is a rare 1970 N-code Newport 'vert. I have the VIN from way back when as CE27N0C106155 -- from a story in One Owner Collector Cars (which has it mis-spelled as CE27U0C106155) -- but it'd be great to have the full tag from the actual owner! Scheduled build date Aug. 26, 1969.

More info on (and photos of) that E86 convertible, which I understand is now in Germany, can be found in this other thread. I had already referenced that TNT 'vert earlier in the present thread, but without the VIN.

CM27U0C188168 -- a 1970 TX9 300 vert with dark green interior sold by @Tobias74 back in 2018 -- is currently for sale in Germany. Thank you @Lycidias for alerting me to it.

the car had already TTI headers when i brought it, i was asking the pervious owner about the HP manifolds but they went in to the scrap metal bin.
