    Underhood Ammeter Bypass

What did you all do to connect the ammeter wires together? I would think that just using a nut and bolt on the loop terminals and electrical tape is a little bit of a hack. The tape would eventually come undone.

    Underhood Ammeter Bypass

Ok, another future project. I will end up doing it to my other Mopars as well.

    Underhood Ammeter Bypass

When you say switched, do you mean any wire that comes alive when the ignition is on? And once this is done I should now disconnect the alt gauge and connect the alt wires together?

    Underhood Ammeter Bypass

I just went out during my lunch hour and installed it in the parking lot. Since it's basically a stock 1965 alt. I used the 12 gauge wire with 18 gauge fusible link. I found a Ford fusible link at my local parts store. Part #85625. It already has the ring crimped on. I also used heat shrink to...

    Underhood Ammeter Bypass

After reading this I decided to do it for my cars. I already had one wire harness go up in flames in the past. Thankfully I didn't fry the car. This looks like an easy job.

Fuel Sender calibration using Meter Match

Isn't there someone that can rebuild the factory sending unit? Also, I like Big Johns idea of soldering a tab for a separate ground wire. I myself drilled a small hole on the tab of the lock ring and soldered ground wire there.

A new issue with wifey's station wagon.

I just sent out 2 motors to the Headlight Motor Man. I figure I would have the spare one done and keep for a backup. Thanks again.

A new issue with wifey's station wagon.

Thanks everyone. I will be making calls this week.

A new issue with wifey's station wagon.

My wife's wagon is a 67 Fury. The other day the tailgate glass wasn't going up all the way. The motor was grinding and I had to get out and give it a helping hand up. I pulled everything apart and found the gears are all chewed up. I have a spare tailgate so I removed the one from there. It...

Matching a proper coil to my set up.

I bought the Standard coil and ballast resistor from Rockauto. If that combo works good then I will order spares.

Matching a proper coil to my set up.

My set up is this, 1965 Belvedere wagon with a late 70s 360. Mild build, low compression, headers, aluminum intake and Edelbrock 1406 4 barrel. Moroso 1.82 ohm ballast resistor. As per FURYGTs advice. Summit Racing™ Billet Electronic Mopar Distributors SUM-851006 for extra durability. MA Mopar...

My 65 Belvedere wagon left me stranded. Ignition issue

So I switched out the coil from one of my other Mopars and it fired right up. Seems the coil was starting to go and was only good with full power on start-up. Drove it to a local cruise and it seemed fine. I thank you all for the help. This is really a great community.

My 65 Belvedere wagon left me stranded. Ignition issue

A member here (FURYGT) told me that BR was the one to get while running the electronic ignition conversion. I also bought voltage regulators from him on Ebay and they've worked great. This is his quote from a PM- "Tim, Any one that is 1.0 ohms or higher. I don't like the look of the back of the...

My 65 Belvedere wagon left me stranded. Ignition issue

I did order a new ignition switch for the dash. That actually happened to me many years ago. It let go on one of my old cars and switched it out and it was fine. It was cheap enough. Figured if that's not it then I have a spare. Should be here Tuesday.

My 65 Belvedere wagon left me stranded. Ignition issue

I forgot to add that I did replace the ballast resistor. When I took the old one off it looked fine. I bought the better Moroso ones that was suggested by someone here last year.

My 65 Belvedere wagon left me stranded. Ignition issue

I know it's a B-body but you guys are so smart and helped me in the past with it and my 67 Fury wagon C-body. So yesterday I was left stranded. My 65 Belvedere wagon has original wiring with electronic ignition conversion. When I turn the key to start, it runs. As soon as I let go to the run...

    Public Service Announcement

So this happened. We are cleaning out my mothers apartment and one of my wife's friends is looking for a single bed for someone's kid. We decided to use our 67 Fury wagon. Box spring, mattress, frames and other stuff packed right in the back. Great. My wife calls the friend and we are on the way...

    Favorite Voltage Regulator (Recommendations?)

I am a firm believer on having the old alternators, starters etc rebuilt by a good shop. More expensive but they last a lot longer. When my buddy put in the new engine in my wife's Fury wagon he got a starter from the local parts store. It lasted about 6-8 months and started sparking. I brought...

    Your preferable alternator

Well I ended up switching the alternator out for the one in my 65 Belvedere wagon. Stock rebuild with no built in voltage regulator. I also changed the stock voltage regulator with a cheap digital one I bought from Autozone. Seems OK. I'll still get the ones from FURYGT though.

    Your preferable alternator

I talked with FURYGT and he suggested an upgrade to a better ballast resistor and voltage regulator. I am going to try that to start.
