    Exhaust Manifolds Ceramic Coated

$180 plus tax, so just under $200. It was the same quote I got 10 years ago so I was happy it didn't go up any higher

    Exhaust Manifolds Ceramic Coated

The heat spring still pivots freely after the coating. I did ask the same question. I did have everything ceramic coated. When I pulled them 10 years ago I used gaskets when I reinstalled them, and plan to do the same this time too.

Local to me in Columbus, OH, called Performance Powder Coating. I just discovered them but have been here for 26 years and have a very good reputation.

    Exhaust Manifolds Ceramic Coated

I said 10 years ago when I remove the cast exhaust manifolds again, I would ceramic coat them. I am very happy with the look and hope the external heat reduction will keep the paint from cooking off the bottom of my valve covers.

Goldie will get her orginal heads reconditioned.

I have always been a purists in just about anything I work on and most of the time it cost more to restore than to replace. I honestly didn't even consider an aluminum heads, just like when I had may radiator re-cored.

Goldie will get her orginal heads reconditioned.

I noticed the were pretty gummy and some plugged. Will a good nylon tube brush do the trick? I let you guys know what I put into it when I am all done.

Goldie will get her orginal heads reconditioned.

I am at a bit of a quandary. The guy who is doing the work came highly recommended and has been doing it for nearly 40 years. He said I'll do what ever work you want done on the heads, but he feels new hardened valves and seats are not worth it, for the miles I will be put on my car. He said I...

Goldie will get her orginal heads reconditioned.

I had a post about swapping out my original 516 heads and after you guys comments I decided to recondition what I have. I got lucky last Sunday and had a beautiful sunny day in Ohio to work in the unheated garage. They came off without any issue. The good news I will hopefully have them back by...

Reconditioned 452 heads. What upgrades should I consider?

Well it was a very easy diagnosis. I do have burnt valves. I think I am going to stay with my original heads and have them reconditioned. My friend has a great source for the machine shop and his guy fortunately is still working there. He is about 2 months out, now I have to make my decision to...

Reconditioned 452 heads. What upgrades should I consider?

Thanks I need to check all these things again. It would be nice to find a simpler less expensive solution. My friend who is helping me is an ex-mopar mechanic and is very knowledgeable. I am getting together my check list for tomorrow thanks!

Thanks. It is a 1966 it is all the stock set up and original heads. Symptoms it has had a slight miss for years,no change with 2 new set of ignition wires. Now it is missing really bad. My vacuum gauge readings are fine. I am going to do the compression tests tomorrow and go from there.

Reconditioned 452 heads. What upgrades should I consider?

Thanks I really appreciate your input. We have been losing our good machine shops around me. I was referred to the Indy heads for warranty and reliability, and he recommended the 452 heads. I will look into your recommendation of reconditioning my existing set up. I have a buddy who should be...

Reconditioned 452 heads. What upgrades should I consider?

Goldie I suspect has burnt valves. I am going to confirm this tomorrow. I have never performed any internal work on the engine, except change the timing belt and cam 10 years ago. I am not looking for anything which will change her drivability. She has a 383, factory 4 barrel, cast exhaust...

Goldie has been sucking air all summer.

Yes that is one of the easy and cheaper fixes. The amazing thing to me I never smelled raw fuel. I didn't sleep very well that Saturday night until I looked at it Sunday morning. I am going to be in a parade next Saturday morning and I knew I needed to get it sorted out on Sunday. I didn't want...

Goldie has been sucking air all summer.

Goldie hasn't been running great all summer, but going out to dinner last night, it got much worse. It definitely seemed like a fuel delivery issue. I haven't changed the fuel filter for several years and I still have my original refurbished tank so that seemed like a logical place to start. I...

    How short is too short?

1/4" seems to be when you start having issues, mine was 3/8" shorter and would barely idle. An ideal situation if you could find NOS switch it out now. I personally would switch it out now with a brand new push rod, so I wouldn't have to deal with it later. I haven't heard of anyone having a...

    Fuel starvation

I am one of the ones which is was the shortened pushrod. I agree with all the other advice, but If you did all that work it can very possibly be the push rod. What I found out is once it is shorter it wears very quickly. Mine got to where it would start and then I would put it in gear and it...

    Fuel Cap Vented Or Non?

I would think you are good now with its own security measure. No kids today would think to look behind your license plate to find your gas cap. :)
