Tacoma is quite “hilley” actually, as it is a port town and right on the Puget Sound. It doesn’t really flatten out to you get inland a mile or two, but that’s neither here nor there. I bought my FIRST 66 Newport in Tacoma when I was a young man growing up in Puyallup.

I didn't see the 3 nubs on the rallye's that you need for the 9" poverty caps, but perhaps I was looking at the wrong wheel!

$175 each is way too much. Especially for a repop. I found a set of 4 cop wheels last summer for $350 but I didn't have cash on hand. What a deal that was and I missed it!

On my 66 Newport (provided I can even get them)?

When viewed from straight on, the ‘66 Newport front end has some blockiness I don’t care for, but when viewed normally, ie not squatting it looks amazing. It’s my preference as well, although I admit the 68 is a close second.

Yes, the '66 does that as well. It's one of my favorite features of the '66 because the taillights do the same, and if you look at the car from directly above, the front and back are basically mirror images of each other.

I have to admit, the ‘68 is the cleanest of the lot …

I'm using one of Rick Ehrenberg's kit's with great results at a very good price point. It replaced my very worn out distributor and got rid of points all at the same time.

The gauge on my car shows a draw of about half after doing the bypass. Meaning the current load coming into the cabin and through the IC is half what it was, thereby reducing the risk of catastrophic failure. I added a volt meter to keep tracking of actual charging.

Also a great time to do the ammeter bypass and headlight relays!
