When it comes to the Carroll Shelby Charger it just doesnt get any more rare than this!! Under hood Plaque reads "special handling / color combination pilot car" It is the ONLY Shelby Charger to ever leave the factory with gold decals and gold seat embroidery. Originally it was only available in only two color schemes: Santa Fe Blue Crystal Coat primary color with Radiant Silver Crystal Coat as secondary accent color. This is a 1 of 1 color combination Pilot car that never went into production and is all original! This is also the only Shelby Charger in 1984 to have the maroon interior. Originally all other Shelby Chargers featured an an interior covered in blue and silver. The seats were unique to the Shelby and featured the Shelby CS logo embroidered on the front seat headrests and back bench seat. A "Shelby" decal was displayed on rear quarter panel/lower lift gate glass. A distinctive wide "center" stripe and Shelby identification distinguishes this car from all others. This car is truly as nice as it gets!

The Dodge Shelby Charger was the first result of the renewed relationship between Carroll Shelby and Lee Iacocca. Based on the Dodge Charger, the Shelby Charger’s modifications included an enhanced 2.2-liter, 4 cylinder OHC engine with a revised camshaft and 9.6:1 compression ratio. A new 5-speed transaxle blended with closer gear ratios for an overall top gear ratio of 2.78. The car also sported a specially designed suspension package with stiffer springs and higher rate shocks than the production Shelby Charger. These changes packed a punch that was sure to impress!

The Shelby also received a special performance exhaust system, all-new 14:1 fast ratio power steering, high capacity power brakes with vented front discs and larger rear drums, engine dress-up that included a chrome valve cover, and special sports suspension that improved the already responsive handling. The shocks were notably stiffer all around. Shorter springs, which lowered the car almost in inch, were 30% stiffer in the front and 15% stiffer in the rear which were all unique to this 1 of 1 vehicle! New low-profile P195/50R-15 Goodyear Eagle GT steel-belted radials with raised black letters mounted on new 4-lug aluminum "pizza" wheels. Shelby aerodynamic designs included a new nosepiece with functional air dam. The ducktail spoiler and ground effect side skirts were carried over from the Charger 2.2

did I ever mention I hate front wheel drive cars as well as 4-cylinder cars?

Wouldn't pay 5$ for this one

I'm going to shock everyone and say this one intrigues me now that Jer has turned me on to these lil shitboxes.

Well, the price has come down on this baby. Was over 10k a few weeks ago, now it's at $7,900. Who knows, might reach the magic number, $2,500...

I have a car-bud in northern Kentucky with ah 5 spd. Manual '86 GLHS that just broke into the 9's at ah tad over 145MPH last week in Cincinnati. And that'z the little **** box lookin' one, not the '87 Daytona lookin' one. Me? I'm happy in the high 11's or anywhere in the 12's az long az I don't have to ride in a cage or ware ah brain bucket. Had all the head gear I could handle in 50 yearz of 2 wheelin', but that'z another story.

I had one of these for a little while. Fun car to drive. Turbo charged go cart. Use to go out hunting for Beemers, Porches, 300zx's and 5.0 Mustangs. Whooped them all. Got my *** handed to me by a late eighties T-bird onceShelbyCSX.jpg. If I recall I had car #152 or 252 something like that.

I had a 2.2 Charger. It was one of the most fun cars I ever owned. Bought it for $300, put new tires, a cam (Mopar Performance had the cheapest at the time), and someone gave me a performance computer for it. I had $500 total.

Drove it back and forth to work for two years. It rusted so bad that I couldn't drive it anymore.

That what it takes to bring Jer back into FCBO.......LOL!

Jer.....I'll be in Lambeau on the 11th to see the Packers vs Rams.

Maybe on Shawnao too if it isn't too cold. Be nice to catch some Blue Gills, Yellow Perch, and a couple of Walleye! LOL!!!

This particular Charger doesn't appear to be the turbo. It looks like the 110HP 4 cylinder which was a faster version of the original 2.2. If so, it's not that quick. 0-60 in about 9 seconds.

Their ALL $2500..........OBO .........And for another K or 2K You'll not have time to look at your 0-60 timez 'cuz you'll be too busy laughing hysterically at the 5L 'Stang you just smoked. And we won't even talk about the ricerz that think they can cut their time way down with ah 6" muffler tip and ah boom box. Every body our age should have ah little turbo car if for no other reason then that'z almost az much fun az Viagra
