1966 Chryser 300 fender tag

What years was tinted glass standard with a/c?

What was standard may or may not be coded on the tag.

What was coded at one plant may not be coded at another.

In some years and at some plants, tinted glass is coded. In some years and at some plants it is not. One has to learn the year and plant nuances to know whether an option should or should not be coded on a specific tag. What happened at 65 Jefferson may or may not apply to 66. What happened at 66 Jefferson may or may not apply to 66 Hamtramck.

Generalities exist. Non standard nuanced plant specific coding exists. Meaning, what the online decoders and books may say may not apply to a specific instance. Non standard coding nuances exist.
Looking over the many pictures of '66 Fender tags which you shared and which I had collected, I found tinted glass was never coded to a fender tag on a Chrysler or Imperial but appeared occasionally on Plymouth and Dodge cars. I also noted order code 52x on the Production Broadcast had text something like "TINTED OR CLEAR GLASS". Conclusions: Order Codes 521 or 522 would result in tinted glass -all or windshield, only on Plymouth or Dodge cars. 520 would result in a Chrysler or Imperial with clear glass, otherwise all tinted. Cllose enough for government work--and me.

Plymouths and Dodges were built at different plants than C/I.

Different plants code differently. Maybe St. Louis coded tinted glass but Lynch Road and Jefferson didn’t.

You will have to match Jefferson broadcast sheets with the tag to verify the theory.

Sales codes like that don’t vary by make. Sales code 521 is the same whether we’re talking about a Valiant or an Imperial.
