I picked up this Newport along with a 4 door Newport and a 4 door New Yorker. Finally able to bring it home and get it washed up. It’s a total gem. The body is straight, interior is complete but needs a little TLC. Has been parked since 2004 so not currently running. Currently working on the New Yorker but this one will be next in line for revival.

Nice..... what a handsome, sporty Newport coupe - WITH AC no less! That honey yellow color is nice, and it has my favorite "turbine" hubcaps (which dressed up my New Yorker, too)......... good luck with the re-activation......

Man that’s nice! I have a ‘71 Newport and I love the fuselage cars, but the slabs have their own kind of cool. For anyone who likes big cars, they’re just bad ***. Park one next to anything else from those years and there’s no comparison. Congrats!

Wow, the body on that looks really clean. I wonder how the antenna came to be installed on the driver's side instead of the passenger side?

I have one with the antenna on the driver's side also. I assume it was done as a dealer add on but dunno why they'd reverse that.

It was not uncommon for hooligans to snap-off your antenna mast as they walked along the sidewalk. Mounting it on the drivers side would prevent that. A power antenna would as well, but that was an added-cost option and you also had to remember to retract it when you stopped the car.

Thanks everyone. It’s a gorgeous car. Can’t wait to get it up and running. Nothing like a big body mopar. Here are a couple pics of the New Yorker.

Awesome New Yorker! That’s a beauty!
I wound up replacing some of the vinyl/fabric on mine, which was less trouble than I thought - SMS SHOULD have what you need for the Newport, if you go that route. Love that green interior on the New Yorker, 66's are my favorite, although I seem to wind up buying 67's. Good luck with your "twin slabs" and DO keep us updated.

Thank you! The 66 is my favorite for sure. Wish I could find a wagon. I would trade the 2 door for a wagon if I could find a clean one.
