I need to call about that thing. Message sent, hopefully I get a reply. I dont have much luck buying off bookface.....

it is on consignment. The owner cannot be reached until tomorrow.

Very cool car - looks like everything that was plastic or vinyl has been covered with Armorall...

I am curious about that floor shifter too - I know that it was available in full size cars in 64 and possibly 65, but not sure how that made it into a 66... so if it's been converted, they tried to do it right, as it has the correct Dodge plate where there would be a shift quadrant indicator for an automatic column shifted car. That would only show up on a floor shift/column shift manual car.

It's a very nice wagon, don't mean to nit pick. According to the 66 FSM there was one 3spd for the Polara/Monaco's, the A-745, it shows no floor shift mechanism and there were no provisions in the tail housing for mounting a shifter. My guess it was column mounted originally and converted, done right though, added the hump in the floor pan. In the 60's-70's there kits available to convert 3spds to floor shift, they came with brackets to mount the shifter to the tail housing bolts.

I am betting it was a factree 3 on da tree.
Bushings for the shift linkage in the steering column got fubarred and they put a stick in it.
That's my guess.
Very common and experienced the frustration in my own 3spd wagon but was lucky to be able to repair it.

Just a thought...........how did the driver's seat get ripped up so badly with only 27,000 original miles on the car, as stated in the ad?

Simple, you deduct 100k not shown on the odometer and add wearcto the tailgate, dented rear bumper and paint that shines only when wet from being washed.
Engine bay and undercarriage pics can tell the truth too! Lol!

Not defending the seller, buti kneeled on my 56 year old seat, and heard the stitching rip. I suspect original seat material, and wouldn't be bothered by it.

Really hoping @stain gets the car.

You've got a good point and it is possible, but I tend to agree with Cbarge that the seller's ad is missing an additional 100,000 miles. Other evidence is as Cbarge stated, especially on the tailgate. But then, they ain't makin' 'em anymore either.

That is a nice car despite the black duct tape on the driver seat, its seen a bit of flatulance on those long trips to the national parks over the years, I would surely add 100,000.
