I have a 1966 Plymouth sport satellite, factory 383 4 speed bucket seat commando model, it no longer has a 4 speed in it, has what I believe to be the original 383 still in it , non running project car. very clean, original paint, some rust in floors not bad, underside is clean, fenders are clean, trunk, rockers, window channels, are rust free, quarters are very clean with a small rust spot on drivers rear about the size of a quarter, sold with a bill of sale only, car is from Arkansas which does not have titles on pre 1975 autos.

I didn't see a 4 speed hump or clutch pedal for a 4 speed car

He said it was a 4-speed car. Using my image magnifier, the fender tag says "525" in the engine and transmission fields. According to my trusty tag verifier, it says this is a 383 AUTOMATIC car. There is a crudely-cut hole in the floor for something, but not a shifter, and certainly NOT a factory hole. I see evidence of console brackets (which Satellites had stock, anyway), but did not see the factory console shifter hole...but that might be what that crudely-cut hole cut around in the first place.

Plus, there is NO such critter as a "Sport Satellite" in 1966 or 1967. That came in 1968.

I sent him the following note about his car:

I noticed your ad for the car, as you said it's a 4-speed car...it's NOT. According to the fender tag, the engine and transmission codes are "525" which translate for a 383 and AUTOMATIC transmission-equipped car. Plus, this has the automatic pedal set-up (brake only, with the wider brake pedal for the automatic-equipped car, no clutch pedal), and no four-speed hump on the driveshaft tunnel. There is an apparent non-factory hole cut into the floor, but this is most assuredly NOT a factory manual-shift car. And the "Sport" Satellite came out in 1968, not '66. Thought you might want to know these things.

Nope, not at all. I agree 100%!

He did reply, though. He asked for some additional info, which I provided to him.

Well good. He's wise to listen to your suggestions and input Patrick .. he's obviously overlooked the method in which it was delivered grin.gif

Nice work Patrick!

I'd give away a 61 Dodge 383 ram engine for that pic if I had one.
Nudge, nudge. ;)
