Is the metal strip under the hood that the hood latch is bolted to and large spring, painted the same color as the car? Thanks!

All the ones I’ve ever seen are are/were black. I just freshened up the engine room on my silver car.

When I dropped parts off for the Director car to my buddies paint shop I asked that he paint that same part black but it ended up body color so I went with it. It certainly doesn’t look out of place here but I think that piece does look better as a dark color if not black.

maybe cars where they sprayed the front of the radiator support black so it didn't show through the grille shot that piece black at the same time ? might vary by year and/or plant?

I have no idea which is factory but I think body color looks much better!
