So what would one be making an hour in 1967? My first job didn't occur until 1971.

Glenn

I thought $5k was a lot of money for my new 1973 Ralleye 340 Challenger when I bought it...

1840 for a Dart, can you imagine how low line that was. Perfect car. Looks like Taylor Dodge was sticking it to everybody and asking $4 more than the others.

Ustah be live folkz in phone stationz they called Operatorz that would plug you in and complete your call and ask the person that picked up the phone if they would accept the toll chargez from*** *** ****. We used to contact that person by referring to the move as putting your finger in the "0" hole which haz now been replaced by the "0" button and they even had namez ??? Something lost there, or iz it us?

Caller ID in '67? Probably not. Maybe a 'collect call'?

Glenn

Yeah, collect call from the cheapskate who buys the $1840 slant 6 Dart with a set of green rubber mats thrown in for free.

My dad's 73 Fury I four door sedan stickered at 3k .. My first brand new car, a 79 Duster stickered at 5300. My NYB has a copy of the sticker....it was 10,640. At the time I bought my Duster, I was making 7 per hour flat rate at a local shop... I thought I was shittin' in high cotton LOL. All my buddies were making 2.65 flipping burgers at Mickey D's or the Red Barn if any one remember's that chain.

My dad was working for the Detroit News in 67 as an advertising salesmen. Maybe he sold those ads? LOL

I think my Imperial was around 7K, you could have bought 3.5 base Darts!
