I don't know anything about this car......thought it might be of interest however since the VIN is a L code (hi-po 440) and appears to have an orange painted big-block still in it. Dallas, TX area.

not questioning your info, just wondering where you found it. Is there a fender tag and of course, engine shouldn't be orange

It's not clear to me if this car did sell for $1750 or not.
The 68 Newport is on the short list of cars where I like both the front and rear styling equally, and an original L-code is quite unheard of. So I hope this car survives and is restored.
Kinda surprised there wasn't more discussion on this one, being so rare.
And overall, it looks like it has good bones.
