Because paint is an easy fix, but that trim is hard to get

Trim looks to be in place. Plastic hooks are available as are the covers. It would be very difficult to repair that damage and avoid a repaint.

I realize that. Just my attempt at humour. I know Legendary no longer lists the clips for Cbodies, but they still have Bbody ones which work. Whoever made the new boot for him likely didn't search too hard.
