There's been a rash of old C bodies for sale locally. Most of the ad's have been over priced by 4 times what the car is worth, and some of the ad's say when fixed up there worth 60,000-100,000 for a 4 door 318 car. There's a plain Jane 68 polara 4 door 318 car for sale right now. There asking 6,000, and they say Richard from gas monkey would buy it from you for 12,000.......... I guess the tv shows of car flipping, and auction houses have tarnished there minds thinking these cars selling are there retirement funds...........

Anybody that watches that show, regardless of what you think of it, knows they don't touch 4-doors.

I wrote the guy about the discrepancy between the odometer reading and his stated mileage in the listing. He doesn't realize that the odometer has flipped over 100K miles (unless it really is only 6K miles). He somehow thinks the first 0 in the 5 digit odometer will flip to a 1 next. So he doesn't even know how to read an odometer and obviously has no idea on value. Clueless.

What's wrong with the autotemp 1 on cold days?

Nothing is wrong with the system if it is working, but it controls heating and cooling automatically. And it rarely works after all these years and fixing one will be a challenge since there are no new parts for it, and the servos in the system are not particularly reliable. Autotemp II started in 1971 models and was much better once you get over the bakelite control housings that crack after about two years. But those are rebuildable and available at a price.

That's a true story. Unless the 4 doors are thrown in free when they purchase a bulk lot of cars... Ether way they still don't get much for them........
