I have a lot of faith in Trump in turning this thing around. LOL

With Kim Jong Un, Putin, and the Donald each having his finger on the red button pretty soon, and each being mad, each having huge egos that blind them, and none all that bright as they believe they are, you just may be right Stan. Even if Donald makes it, though, he would likely be just as much of a eunuch as Obama given the hurdle of getting anything past Congress that remains as polarized as ever, and even a lot of Republicans not backing him.

That's what puzzles me about your executive branch. I assume that there are enough checks and balances within the oval office to keep a lid on a loose cannon. One or the other houses would block any foolishness yes? Our majority rule here means there is no way to stop a party from passing any legislation they wish with our without public support. This is happening right now in Alberta where an "elected" socialist majority is enacting ideological laws with no regard for their impact on the citizens of this province. We need a recall mechanism that allows the "People" to prevent loose cannons from directing us into ruin. I guess at worst Trump will veto anything he disagrees with and you will have 4 more years of ineffectual government.

Probably a lot we still have left that you take for granted................

But, hey, since our Congress members are virtually all for sale, so if Trump outlobbies (pays them) more than the Koch Brothers and their front groups or the corporate lobbyists he could still get his way since he probably has enough money. Then it could be a new form of paid Democracy - a Dictatorship. Maybe you are on to something, Stan............................

In theory, yes, it prevents dictatorship.
2 things, though:
Our president can enact an 'executive order', which I believe cannot be opposed, from the little I've read on their operation they work as a king's edict. Other branches are in control of funding, so perhaps that can be used to cripple an order? All presidents have used them, they often don't get fanfare unless egregious.

Following what saforwardlook said:
The bigger problem is not partisan politics, but rather the 'working both sides of the aisle' crap that politicians spew about in order to get re-elected. 'Working' suggests compromise or sacrifice of something you want on both sides, but in reality it means porkbarreling things the other guy wants in a law also. Our laws aren't about 1 thing, they have a whole bunch of unrelated crap in there to get buy-in votes from people in the other camp. And the camp trying to sell a law, they want it passed, of course, so they are constantly counting up votes and buying individuals by giving each one of them something. End result - instead of a law that says 'replace the farm truck's aging 318 with parts-store reman' you get something like...

"New truck to be purchased at full price from Joe's constituents and assigned to shopping mall security (to accompany the 87 that are already there). Vehicle to be converted to Biodiesel as green initiative via a new govt grant by Bill's constituents . 12 sets of Michelins to be purchased from Tom's and stored in his facililty at $50/month until needed. 318 to be replaced by 408 stroker from Jack's and installed in farm truck. Farm truck to be made scrap by Ed's to meet EPA initiatives. $98,687 spent. As for the farmer's needs, well, non-partisan politics at work...

End result - you get a moronic statement like 'we'll just have to pass this law to see what's in it', because none of them know all the crap they threw in the soup. And most Americans are too busy making the most of their lives (or complaining about them!) to research it in its unadulterated version, so we just watch the media's biased sound-bites. Even if we knew, it's too late to do anything about it.

IHMO, as long as we have 1 camp mainly wanting to give all the money to people (hoping we'll spend it back into the economy), and the other camp mainly giving money to big business (hoping people will earn money to spend) - we're never gonna have agreement. I view 1 as lesser of evils, with principles more likely to result in a man will learn to fish -- but both groups have sold out their principles in order to get/stay in power.

Sorry that this thread went so far off track but I blame people like this for the social license disease sweeping the country...

Also sorry it's on bookface

Geez. :wtf:

I guess in this case 'educated, but still stupid, white chick' is probably hate speech also. And I was fully expecting her to be wearing a BLM hat.

All the issue and noise being made by her, and that 2nd guy was justified to steal the guy's hat because he didn't like what it said. They call the rightside the 'brownshirts', but if you look at how lefties want to control people's speech, feelings, attitudes, etc, you can easily see which side is gearing up for social control. And the young ones are so dimwitted they can't see what's happening. Raise the temperature slowly enough and you can boil a frog without it noticing...

And when I criticize/generalize the right and left, I refer to the polar-extreme-zealots, not the normal folks like all of us. None of us make the news, we're too boring.

Hello I was the winning bidder on this car last year ( I enjoyed the comments lol) and have put some work into it, New Radiator, Motor Mounts, Fuel Pump, Rebuilt brake booster, New Master Cylinder etc. A newer rebuilt Holley 4BBL. carb as well. All original parts have been saved. I also have new parts that have not been installed, New rear THREE HUNDRED Badges, New grill surround, New front shocks and new front valance. Everything works except the dimmer switch for the dash lights which can be rebuilt or replaced. It could also use a switch for the windows as its a bit jerky and does not provide power to the rear windows. It has been garaged and driven sparingly. I had an estimate for the top repair and it was around $700-$800 with a max of $1200-$1400. I have other projects and just bought a car from a close friend that I have wanted for years so I am going to need the garage space. Great unique car that I'm sure I will miss because I will not find another. I'm asking $7250 O.B.O as I have more than that in it. I will try and get some more pictures over the holiday. Please feel free to ask me any questions.

I have asked the seller for more detail about the rust near the bottom corners of the back glass, or if there is any water intrusion around the glass. We'll see if he/she responds, but I've found when I ask 'tough' questions like that I usually don't get an answer.

Seller calls this a rust-free car, but I suspect those areas are ready to poke thru.

That one is within driving distance of me, if I had capacity and resources I'd be all over it (except that roof would make me take pause). Hypothetically I'd be willing to go $5-6000, as I'm not seeing any 2dr 300s around here anymore. Also makes me regret selling my U-code 70 300 coupe (near-survivor) back in 2008. This blue one has better colors, my green one had better goodies.
