Excellent, thanks for the update. Becoming clearer about the 4-speed set-up in a C-Body...

Looks like you were right Stan. I bought the C body/Early B body fork and also requires a C body only fork pivot that he will need to mail to me. I also bought the new ball and stud z bar hardware set. The fork was 89 he let me have it for 80.00 and the hardware set was 60, he let me have it for 55. This makes my 69 B Body 383 bellhousing work on my C body.

Now I have everything but a clutch and throwout bearing to install my 4 speed.

The only thing I am not certain on is the length of the eyebolt/adjuster screw. I didn't get a chance to ask Brewer about it. I have a couple and bought a couple more and all that I have are the same length. Its hard to see it in the pics of the one in the links you sent me.

I've always wanted a C with a slant 6. That is way to much $$ for its condition IMO...

Here's the car that I'm talking about, the Sport Fury being a 1967 model (found the mag article but couldn't get it to upload). 'Tis at Desert Valley Auto, however I have learned that all 4-speed related parts and hardware (including the hump) have now been removed. Roof and RHS 1/4 have been sold too (why would you buy a rusty quarter...?), quoted front fenders (which are dented BTW) at $400 each, and hood/bonnet (which I can bet is not great either) offered at $350. Crazy...

Nice, polite people those DVAP folks........NOT.

I remembered seeing a photo of a junkyard late '60s Sport Fury Hardtop in an old Muscle Car Review magazine that I had. It was pretty banged up, but rust free. Car was a BB, 4-speed car, but drive-train was gone. Found the mag last night (from 2009), and sure enough it was a 1967 model, still had the pedals and hump in it (console was gone), but wonder what else it had. From the pix, looked pretty well stripped. I'd probably actually feel guilty about removing that stuff from a car if there was a possibility that it could be restored lol...

Anyway, if the Z-Bar wasn't taken when the drive-train was removed, I imagine a small part like that would simply get lost, chucked, etc.

Lol Aidan, thats where my 69 fury came from! The guy I bought it from got it from a fellow who bought it from those guys. I talked to them years ago on parts for my 66 coronet 500 and they were the biggest bunch of jerks.

How many 1970 C bodies w/ a three on the tree?

Does anyone know where I could find out just how many 1970 C bodies came with the "three on the tree" manual trans? I purchased the 70 Sport fury that's been on cars-on-line for a couple years and I'm looking forward to dramatically upping its hp and enhancing her suspension, interior and body to a nice sleeper.

Thanks,
Bill
