He's itching! They might even show up before the car! Hey Snotty, not to nitpick, but have to ask, while admiring the picture of your car, I am wondering should it have front fender stainless wheel opening trim? My '70 Newport convertible didn't have any when I bought it, it has screw holes though.
Yes, it should, and it does now. That picture was taken the first weekend when I bought it in 2003. It was missing several trim pieces, including the one you noticed. I have them all now. Here's the front today:

can anyone tell me if the 1970 newport lug studs have any left hand threads? or are all four wheels right hand theads?

All were left studs on the left side until '71. Mine no longer are as I swapped them, but they were from the factory.

Good luck finding new ones.
 
Finally received the newport today, really happy with the car, it’s clean and in better condition than I imagined.

Put my new wheels and tires on too. Looks so much better!!
