This '70 'vert looks good, though it appears to have been repainted (cue the black pain in the engine bay). It is up for auction (Lot # OKCJ23-S508) in Oklahoma:

I think that the VIN is PM27G0D218923 but the photo resolution makes it difficult to see (AFAICT, it could be PM27G0D218928 or PM27G0D213928 or PM27G0D213923). Unfortunately, the paint code is even harder to decipher:

Love the drive-in movie speakers on the rear panels. I guess that is better than cutting holes in the original panels.

Paint code looks kinda like R5.
I am seeing a 5 too, in which case this Fury was not born not red: ER6 was the code for C-body red in 1970 (FE5 is close, but I have not seen any FE5 Polara 'vert -- I know of all were ER6)

I would like to see a better picture of the tag. I don't see any sign that it was anything other than red. Underside of the hood looks original and red is coming through the black on the tag. Unless proven otherwise I'm going with it was red from the factory.

I have asked the auctioneer for the tag and will post it when/if I get it.

This said, this is a Belvedere-built car (D plant code) so the radiator support and the tag should both be painted in the body color They are not. Ditto for the firewall, which is also painted black.

Looking at the paint codes, I suspect this car was originally FK5 ("Deep Burnt Orange").

Waiting for someone to post a popcorn emoji :)

I think the tag and core support were painted body color until someone painted over with black. I see red on the tag. Also the hood bumpers inside the fenders don't appear to have any overspray on them. If the color was changed they did a great job.

Turns out that the VIN was actually PM27G0D218323 -- the car went up for sale on eBay two months ago. While looking up something else, I realized the connection.

Funny how difficult it is to figure out the actual vin numbers when they are blurry or obscured.
Thanks for getting that!!
