Not sure if posted already Gentlemen, spotted a gem on ebay: 1972 Plymouth Fury I Police Car.

Same lad has owned it since the police dept. sold it in 1973 after 60k miles. 440, original paint and interior etc.

Lotsa spares it seems...but Minnesota isn't kind to cars ay?

Sorry, can't post the link on this particular 'puter for some reason. Could someone kindly volunteer and ad to this post?

A rare one for sure, enjoy...

Looks like a $1000 worth of parts alone. The derby dummies will be after this one for sure.

Guys there is a reserve on it so it's not gonna sell for $1000.

Oh. I didn't see that....

you caught it yourself 68plymouth383 , i was gonna point out same thing. :D

sure looks like it's a "real" ex-cop car, a LOTTA hard-to-find "correct" police car parts (except the seats/door panels). i wouldn't hazard a guess on what it'll go for, if it goes at all this time around.

BUT it also appears a new owner has a good starting point on what still looks like a fair but manageable bit of resto work.

AND those of us who have done cop cars from this era have had to chase a few of the "police-only parts" sitting in that driveway (including the car of course) for years sometimes.

I wish I had those spare parts that is going to be a great deal.

Seem to recall seeing this year Fury cop car in several classic 1970s movies (I am obsessed with '70s movies BTW, ha ha):

The Taking of Pelham One-Two-Three (1974), the original with Robert Shaw. Not the recent re-make with Mr. Travolta taking shite (his best movie IMHO was Brian De Palma's "Blow Out", release in 1981). Filmed in New York so Fury had blue/white paint scheme too.

The Song Remains the Same, Zep's concert movie released in 1976. Was filmed in July 1973, and I'm pretty sure a '72 Fury I cop car was featured in the news reel footage featured in the latter part of the film due to the robbery of quite a large amount of dosh from their concert takings. Think they were robbed of about US$200k on the last night of their concerts. What would that amount be valued at now in 2015, 42 years later?
Wow, I would be quite put out to say the least. Ol' Page must have been pissed off....

Fortunately, the engine is seized. That should slow some of them down. :)

LOL, derby brats don't care about the engine, only the body. They usually have a garage full of small block 318's to pick from or swap them out from the last destroyed shell. Rinse, repeat.

Wow I have driven by that car for years! Its in Bloomington by a friends house and it has not moved in at least 10 plus years. I always thought it was a cool car but didnt know it was a cop car as I never went in the driveway to check it out. Hope someone can fix it up.
