1972 Plymouth Fury - not mine

Well done, post a picture of the fender tag when you can and the guys will decode it for you.
Here it is. Thanks

That's the vin vehicle identification number- I meant the silver colored one from under the hood that says gp2 etc as they're the car type, paint and upholstery colors etc, this one doesn't tell much except if a car is a cut and shut where it'll be different in the various places the number is located on the body.

My apologies for not being clearer before.

You may wish to check the numbers before taking delivery - if this number differs from that usually (I think) on a metal plate in front of the driver side windscreen, or stamped under hood somewhere due to being a replacement door then you won't get registration or insurance until sorted out. I only mention this as if the drivers door was replaced without the original tag being retained or documentation about it, you may have trouble.

Anyway, congratulations on your purchase and the usual cast of characters will chime in to suggest ways of spending your money.

As has often been said - we like spending other people's money.

Hi, I have been able to decode some items. Can anyone fill in the blanks? Thanks:

Do you have any links to what the original colors would have been?

I dont think i will be going back to original colors. Once had a Triumph Stag, which was Russett Brown (commonly known as Gusset Brown)... Quickly changed that to a Guards Red.

Congratulations on the purchase. Definitely check that VIN on the dash, and make sure it's clear.

All good. Picked up this morning and just got back to Florida. Very pleased. Needs paint, but very solid

Back home to assess work. Paint is horrible, so going to strip down to bare metal and start again. Bondo on roof, but solid metal underneath, both inside and outside, so looks like it just needs removing and redoing properly . Engine has had some workdone and has a bew magnaflow exhaust fitted.

also has some holes in trunk lid, which look like it may have been fitted with a spoiler at some point

Looks like a reasonable project. I really like these cars and hope you enjoy it a lot. That front end is one of my favorites.

Looks like a great project, enjoy working on it. Looks like a few sins to be undone.

I like your car and I know you said you weren't going to paint it back to the original colors but I think it would be sharp. Here's what I found.

This Gran Sedan looks like it has the same color options as your Gran Coupe had originally except for the interior.

Vinyl side and rear molding. (I believe your car had black based on the rear vinyl molding.)
