1978 LeBaron 4 speed

That is a very cool car. If it was close to me I would be hard pressed not to buy it. A 2dr Lebaron...rare, then T-tops...rare again...and then a A833OD tranny...Holy friggin crazy rare!!

My brother had a good friend in high school...only a year younger then me, and his Dad factory "Special Ordered" a 77(?) Volare wagon with a E58 (360/4bbl) and A833OD tranny, and then fully loaded too...power everything! I was into mopars at this time, and knew my codes, so when I saw the fender tag I nearly pooped my pants....this car should not exist! I told them I wanted to buy the car if they ever wanted to get rid...I never received a call. :(

I hear rumors it's still around in a low rent section of a local town...but I have not been able to track it down.

If you ordered the 318, you got the 4 SPD. and paid for just the 318.
If you wanted the automatic and a 318, you paid for both.

Looks like you paid for the auto no matter what based on that i.e. auto was optional in the 360 too and may have been a mandatory extra cost option with most of the engines options

When looking for rust on T-Top cars, check the rear foot well floors. The T-Tops were notorious for leaks (regardless of make) and the water pooled behind the front seats, soaked the carpets and well, you can guess the rest.

If you're lucky this car was indoors most of it's life (it looks absolutely original with the exception of the zip tied horn button on the column) and therefore has no floor rot. Check the headliner for water stains too (another indicator).

Good points.... my T Mirada leaked on the seats. You had to take a towel out after a rain
