I promised better photos when the car was brought of of storage which was yesterday. The A.C still works after removing/repairing the evaporator last year. Other repairs were exhaust (mufflers/tailpipes), valve cover gaskets, air tube repair etc. Also, minor rust repair under the padded vinyl roof on the passenger side. That repair was a job because the rear seat ,headliner and side panel needed to be removed for the body man. This year will mostly driving for fun for the rest of the summer.

Holy smokes that's a good looking car! Hopefully you get to enjoy it going forward. Any other plans for itÉ

I got a stone chip on the hood from a passing scrap hauler last year, check why its pulling to the left after alignment was done plus have to hold wheel at 1 o'clock.......maybe be going back to alignment shop.

Was this a sales bank car or a special order?
My eyeballs are still rolling around on the floor.

This was a special order car as is my '79 N yorker and my '70 Fury Pursuit. About six months ago I put the crappy pictures I had on this site with the story of the '78 NYB. Its kinda long so I won't duplicate it again but it is the first car I drove in 1978, so it has a emotional tie to me and I found it by luck on craigslist two years ago.

Your 1978 NYB is as beautiful as the cars in Survivor Tent in Carlisle!!!

I had no interest in 1979 Ny'ers......until I saw yours! That is a nice car too!

The interior is close to the same shade of Red of the '78 NYB. This car is super clean with 86k on it. The '78 NYB has 139k on it. The carb needed to be rebuilt from sitting before I owned it. I have been consistantly near 18 MPG, the '78 was getting 14 MPG last year if I remember correctly. The '59 Imperial and the '70 Fury III Pursuit will both be 14 MPG.
